cortland........

Anyone know anything about this type of line? Seller says it is "unopened".
Isn't monofilament line the clear see through stuff?
The only cortland line used for cues that I'm aware of was the number 9 fresh water green and white.

I wish they would open the can.

Dave, the Cortland I have seen most frequently used was the #9. This is what Balabushka used on a number of his cues, I also think it was used by Gus Szamboti during the 1970's into the early 1980's.

From what I know about fishing line the larger the number the larger the diameter of the line, the seller claims that the item for sale is #2 which would make it kinda small. Now, I can't say that I am 100% positive because I have not dealt with fish line in many years.

In the first photo in the sellers photo's it say that the line is Monofilement which to my knowledge is plastic not Linen.

Hope this helps

Dave, I'm pretty sure the stuff Your interested is not that. Mono is more of a synthetic as You mentioned, it comes in several colors now, but started out mostly clear like You say, white or blue. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that It's not the stuff you want, unless your going fishing, and if so name the time and place:smile:.

Here's a read I ran across recently that may be of interest- http://modelshipwrights.wikispaces.com/Linen+line

If you're interested in the real deal, see Jerry Pechauer. I believe it goes for about $100 per wrap. Tank138 on here also has some for sale, but I don't recall the specifics.

Dave, I'm pretty sure that the ebay seller is Bill Grassley, cornerstone cues on AZ. You might contact him through PM.
