Hi All,
Here's the latest and greatest case by The Grumpy Old Cowboy (DW Cases). It was custom made for the guy that bought his first case ever, and is as fancy as I've ever seen a for a cue case. The fit and function are unbelievable and the craftsmanship is second to none.
The concho, buckle, gather, and tip strap are sterling silver with gold accents. The interior is natural suede pigskin and utilizes PVC tubes for the shafts. The triangular butt/shaft configuration is compact and has the butt infront of the shaft tubes.
The handle has been braided and the attachment to the case body is via hand tied sinew, as opposed to metal rings. The top is darted and braided and is very unique.
The tooling on this case is virtually three dimensional and the shading contrast in the stains makes it pop out you. The lady in the picture is very subtle and gives the case a feeling of an old painting of a mythological wood nymph. The case is tooled everywhere you could put tooling, but it is all tied together so it doesn't appear busy or cluttered.
It was pretty pricey, but when the hours were calculated that were spent on the case, it seemed like it should have been considerably more expensive.
I'll show a bunch of pictures, as this case needs to be seen from several angles to truly appreciate the work that's been put into it.
Hopefully, now Grumpy will be able to spend a little more time on cases for the rest of us!
Steve
