I wish noone hit with it. That kind of sucks buying a cue from a maker that other people have hit with.

I disagree. You never actually buy a cue from any top cuemaker that has not been hit with. Almost every cuemaker I know hits some balls with the cue before it goes out the door. For Joe C. to let some of his friends whose input he respects hit some balls with a cue is a good thing...Joe knows that it is up to his standards. Hitting some balls with a cue is different from trying it out for the week-end, etc.

Even a brand new car has 5-10 miles on it when you get it.

BTW, I have played with a Joe C. cue for the last 4-5 years, so I know how well his cues play. Only in the last month have I decided to try a Scruggs... but the Joe C. is still in the case with me, just in case. Also, I have sold Joe's fancy sneakies for $600 before. Getting an 8 point cue with ivory joint, 2 shafts with ivory ferrules, etc for $800...it is like hitting the pool lottery.

I understand they get hit with but from people other than the maker? Joe Blow does not come to the car lot to test out brand new cars and puts 5-10 miles on them. Those miles are from the manufacturer and dealer. It was just a thought.

My thought is, and do not want to take this thread in the wrong way... If your comment is not related to the sale, keep it to yourself. The comment you did kind of sucked and it was kind of negative to the sale. You see people getting in trouble on AZ all the time because of that.
The cue is brand new, period. If it wasn't mentioned you would never know...

I did not mention it. It was related to the sale. I will not say anything else but I do not think my comment hurt the sale as much as another comment did.

so you would have bought the cue if i had not hill balls with it? well if you're really a buyer joe has another one that hasn't been hit. and by the way, i worked my entire adult life for new car dealers, people test drive cars all the time, even overnight, and then order one. those test driven cars are still sold as new. what about cars that are swapped in from other dealers, sometimes hundreds of miles away and are driven by runners? should those be sold as "used"? if test hitting 5 or six balls with no chaulk turns you off on a cue i hope you aren't buying ANY new cues.

When I think of nicely colored rosewood or cocobolo - that is what's in my mind. If a cue is gonna be wrapless, this should be the quality of wood left exposed.
Very nice, Joe.

What's the difference? He gets input from people he respects that can lead to better cues and Joe Blow could very well have driven that car on a test drive just like the person that buys it may have. Unless he smacks it on the side of a table who can tell if someone other than the maker hit with it? Even if he did smack it the maker was there to fix it :-)

Hey joe I'll take that used stick for 300.00  LOL

TAP, TAP, TAP Well Said. The cue is new as long as it is only test hit.

Also, a bump for one hell of a great looking cue at an awesome price. My friend Kyle bought a real fancy JC cue and the hit is incredible.

Good Luck with the sale Joe.

shaft taper

To begin with the cue was ordered and then the buyer lost his job. That is why the shafts are cut thinner up to 24".He had taken meausurements every 2 inches with calipiers to copy his taper from his cue.
My feelings on letting people hit and play with a cue before they buy it is it's ok.When buying on line from me and for some reason the cue is not to your liking it is returnable within the first week. You will have to pay the shipping costs. If there is any damage that can't be easily fixed then that would come out of your refund. So I guess it comes down to that I will never sell a cue that is unchauked and never hit with. They are all slightly used.

Great cue Joe and never let one guy who obviously has no idea what he is talking about get you down.

Haven't talked to you in awhile. I hope you and the family are well.
