So, Efren Reyes' favorite game is 18.1 balkline:

Efren Reyes IPT Challenge interview with Inside Pool Magazine

(I skipped ahead to 2:36 in that link to the part where he mentions different games, but the rest is interesting as well.)

I love how there's an edit in the video after he mentions balkline. Clearly, the interviewer had no idea what it was and asked before resuming the interview with a brief description and another question about it. She's not alone among US players, of course, since you never see it played here. It's no surprise a good player would do well transferring the skills to one pocket, though.

Well, I could be wrong.... but here it goes: I believe that in a match in the 2002 Challange of Champions, it was Efren Reyes vs. Hsiao-Lang Fang (or something like that), Efren was going to hit the 6 ball in the side and coincidently drew to the long cushion for a break up (I believe) the clustered 7 and 8. Right there and then, I realized that this was balkline background.

This is why I keep on telling eze123 that the small games are important. I told you, eze123, small games do help! :bash:
