I have three Bob Thompson cues for sale. 2 are a set (Jump/Break and shooting) and 1 is a snakewood beauty. Bob is a great wood worker and spends his time tinkering... making things out of wood. He is well known for his bows, guitars, rifle stocks and pool cues.

I am asking $1400 for the set and they should be kept together. I'll sell them seperately for $700 apiece but that would take the collectable value down. The cues are identical and composed of curly maple and bocote. The butt cap and joint are bubinga. The cues are both between 19.5 and 20oz, have a 3/8-10 pin, and are in good to pretty much great condition. Each cue comes with 2 shafts. The shooting cues shafts are: 13mm with a wood ferrule and triangle tip and a 10.5mm laminated with regular white delrine ferrule and med/soft Morri tip. The j/b cues are both 13mm ferrules, one is wood with triangle tip and one is a laminated shaft with sledgehammer style tip. Both cues also come with custom joint protectors.

The last cue is $800 and is snakewood and curly maple with macasar ebony highlights surrounding the snakewood. It is a thing of beauty. This thing pops! The cue is 19.75oz and feels light in the hand due to it's thin taper in the butt. It has a 3/8-10 pin and snakewood joint/butt. The shaft is 12.5mm and has a snakewood ferrule and an experimental Dupont plastic composite tip. The tip is desinged to never have to be reshaped. I know, I know... weird. But I've been playing for quite a while and I've played with/owned some the best cues you can think of and this thing just flat out hits. You will be amazed.

These cues are very highly figured and turn heads wherever I go. If you have any questions, just ask. Shipping is $25 per cue and I do accept paypal. I will also trade all three for a Tim Scruggs, PFD Studios, Carmeli.etc... and maybe I'll even throw in some money for the right cue. All trades will be seriously considered.

Thanks

Come on, someone please offer me something... any kind of trade!

Come on, someone please offer me something... any kind of trade!

I have to admit when I saw this I lol'ed. I have often wondered how many times those words have been spoken by sellers in this forum and yet this the first time I have seen that exact phrase.

In this market selling anything at your price point is tough unless it is a screaming deal. Selling an unknown in this market, at that price point, with 3 posts, borders on masochism.

Good luck, all it takes is that one guy.

#1 - Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy.
#2 - Try to be patient. It's apparent from your posts that you thought you were offering something special & expected a very rapid response & sale. One thing you'll learn here is that what you think of what you have, and what the market thinks (especially the current market), can be cruelly different.
Best of luck with your sale. I've never heard of Bob Thompson, but I'm sure someone has!

How can i get a patch i need one for my case..

I have hit with roughly 10-12 different Thompson's and I played one of his guitars. I can say that the look of his cues are not for everyone, but his wood joints and wood ferulles sure are nice. I can say they they do hit great, a little thin in the butt, but easy to use and pocket balls with. Jim Oswald at the now closed down Billiards N' Bagels had Thompson cues for sale. I will have to say that those cues never lasted more than a week on the shelf. I'm not sure where you get your prices, but good luck with the sale.

Sometimes it helps post direct pictures rather than links to pics. It just makes it a little easier for perspective buyers. Nice looking butterfly cues. Best of luck with your sale.

The prices come from what I paid for them and what he is getting for them now. And, the prices are just starting off points. I would almost like to see more on the perspective trades than just somebody buying them. I bought each of these directly from Bob.

I don't think that the break cue performs as well as a sledgehammer but I've never had a problem with it. It breaks well, and it jumps pretty well too. I'm not an expert jumper so I can't say that it performs as well as some others. As for other break cues, the only one's I've used were Sledgehammer, Fury, Leon Sly, and Cuetech. The only one that it isn't equal to or better is the Sledgehammer.

What does how much they sell it mean? If you mean how much did I pay for them originally, they were $800 per cue. The snakewood cue was $850.

In this market you'll be lucky to sell them at the asking price. They are beautiful, haven't heard of the maker but they're nice wood cues. I've been watching all these known custom cue maker cues at extreme deals sitting for awhile its amazing.

Like a Bushka Replica brand new, one of the higher GB models that go for like $800 up for sale at $300 and it lasted a few days.. I was suprised it wasn't gone in a second. I saw it late or I'd of grabbbbed it up!

But that's just it, this is just an asking price. IE... a STARTING price. I'm more interested in trades and it doesn't necessarily have to be anywhere near equal in value. I've just had my heart set on getting some other kinds of cues and I'd like to see what I can get. My whole thing is I won't keep a cue unless I like shooting with it at any time. That just isn't these cues anymore. They are great, don't get me wrong. I just don't have a desire to use them anymore because I own three others on top of these.
