Cue Case mishap

When dealing with someone like this would you have

  • Refunded him his money, no questions asked

OK, just have to get this off my chest.

I sold a member on here a Porper 1x1 tube case for 25.00 shipped. Mind you, I did not post these for sale. This person noticed I had some cheap cases and he told me he would buy one for 20.00 shipped. I checked Muellers and they are 21.95 + 4.05 shipping, so I told him 25.00 shipped and he immediately agreed.

He promptly payed me, and I immediately gave him positive ITrader. I was not online yesterday at all and when I got to work today I got a few nasty pm's

Here are the pm's sent to me;

send me a refund they only cost $16.95 from Porper....what a rip-off

If this person would have just followed through to checkout with Seyberts, he would have found out that yes, the case is 16.95..Yes, that is a $9.05 SAVINGS...great find :woot:

Oh wait.....there is a shipping fee of $8.10 :eek:

So basically, he said he would burn me here on AZ because I sold him a junkie case, that he agreed to buy at the 25.00 price....and then when he went Price Shopping, found he could buy one cheaper but didnt check the shipping to see that I actually was STILL selling it to him cheaper than he could get it. :rolleyes:

Maybe I should have not posted this on here, but I wanted to get your opinions on If i did the right thing by refunding him his money? I am not here to rip anyone off I want to treat people fairly, and expect to be treated the same. I do know there are some dumbasses out there and each transaction cant be as flawless as all the others I have done on here.

Anyways, sorry for airing this out on here, I just wanted to see what you guys thought of this and hopefully I did the right thing.

The guy thought he was getting a deal and jumped to get his order in asap, then he found out he was actually paying pretty much full price and could maybe squeek out saving a buck or two elsewhere online.

Who cares? He got a cheap case for $25 shipped. You say you were not even selling the things and he appraoched you? You gave him a price and he agreed and sent the cash? Done deal IMO. Tell him to do his worst, with this story as it plays out and for the price of the product I cannot see how you eating the shipping costs is a fair deal for you at this point because mr. penny pincher did not shop around first.

I was just showing SK Custom Cues what I had and if he was interested in any....I ended up giving him a cpl cases to give away with 2 cues he built. I just want to do the right thing is all. And I feel I did do the right thing in my eyes....I just hope it was right...

Yea ,Shawn your getting rich selling those case's.:grin: Even if you got a extra buck or two I surely would not say you ripped anyone off for that amount. You have shipping charges with everything you buy online now a days. And if the guy didn't want to pay for shipping he should have went to walmart and bought one. If I were you I would not ever do it again unless you know the person cause as you can see it isn't woth the buck or two you made if any money at all. <<ED

The purchaser shook your hand when he paid the money. I don't know where their from but around here that means something.
Your math is wrong. He looks to spend $25.05 with shipping on Seyberts. The deal is not worth having someone in wait to knife you. Refund the money and good riddance.
 
If you have not sent the case I would just give him his money back and forget it but if you allready sent it tell him to send it back and refund him less the return shipping.

I'm not voting, I say screw 'em. You made deal and you stuck by it. So he found it cheaper, big, fat, hairy deal. He agreed when he paid you. Let him do his worst, I doubt anyone here would buy it, anyway.
 
If it wasn't shipped yet I would just refund the money. If I had already shipped it I would tell them they would have to ship it back to me and then I would refund, but I definitely wouldn't be eating any costs.

teaz01 is right, you don't want to be looking over your shoulder(business wise or literally) over what you think is a lousy $25 but may be the world to this guy you made a deal with.
When you're in business you get all kinds of people you have to put up with, thank God the crazy ones don't out number the good ones.

You did the right thing, good for you.

I just refunded the man his money so I could be done with him. I guess when I need to STRONG ARM someone..I will just come get you guys to stab them in the forehead with a icepick :thud:
