I'm thinking that the need for instrucional books is greater due to many not having the natural talent that can proceed to play without how to do it books.

I am one of the lucky ones who got by with natural talent and friendly advice. i never had to go to a book for learning the game. but when i learned to play there was not many books at all. so you have to consider that as a factor also. i simplly had to learn the hard way. i paid for my lessons in a manner of speaking !!! good thing i was a fast learner.

cat got your tongue, err ahh keyboard !

maybe it is still early for the peeps that party alot.
or is book a 4 letter word !

i worked then came home watched football , 3stooges, the ball drop, and the car jump. then went to bed and watched more 3 stooges. boring huh !

gotta go to work but,

i've read alot of the stories and fictionals.
A very very interesting book by our own azer Tom Mcgonagle is "Right On Cue". A story of not one but two players, a boy and a girl who wind there way to the top. Johnny the young boy who has a built in interest in pool and a girl player he meets along the way. Through a mysterious history of his ancestory he will find the reasons why he loves the game and his capabilities to preform.
has anyone else read this and how did you like it?
i'm sure you would enjoy it very much if you do get to read it.

Aren't all books either true or fictional accounts, including instructional books?
What's going on here. Where's a moderator. This sort of behavior will not be tolerated. I'm calling my lawyer, Jackie Childs.

Running The Table

Just got it from Ebay. Got through the first 12 pages and it's surprising well written and I'm enjoying the read.

For those who aren't familiar with this book it's about Kid Delicious and some of his time spent on the road.

So far its very good.

give up your votes !:poke:

i would like to see at least 100 votes to have a valid gauge on this subject.:scratchhead:
it is alot closer than i thought it would be , so far.
ty for all the votes so far.

:outtahere:

There are all helpful, but I think instructional are better for giving you thoughts or ideas to improve your game.

A far as sales go, I'm gonna go with instructional books. There are just more of them, hence they sell more.

bumpin for more voters !

remember it is about what you like to read,

not what sells the most or what there is more of ! tyvm.

I've bought a ton of both, but always enjoyed the old stories better.... so I had to vote to make them both even 50/50 on the poll! Too many instructional books not enough stories! But keep them all coming as far as I'm concerned, I still ahve space on the bookcase!
Good thread:wink:
