6 satin Finish style cues in the works. These cues are going to have a black with white spec irish linen wrap. 1 shaft. These cues are plain jane player cues that I am making for the Derby City. We did 6 but one is already spoken for. They are going to have a french polish type finish.

SW is still producing & marketing their Satin cues and it's undisputedly their own product. Even the cheapest overseas knock-off cues come from the factory with a logo identifying the origin of the cue. Being an American cuemaker intending to capitalize on another American cuemaker's idea, it would show respect & honor to Ms. Franklin if you would at least give them your own name. It would also prevent any confusion with unknowing buyers who may be duped into buying these under the assumption that they are real, whether from you or in the used market. That would be dispicable. Simply engraving a logo or intials on the buttcap would go a long way to show your intentions are honorable & not deceitful, as well as prevent these cues from being used to con people.

Just a suggestion. And by the way, Atlas sells blank 3/8-11 caps for cheap and in bulk.

Eric,
How the hell you are always right on the money?

we make our own delrin caps just out of the plain ones there is 4 differant things that seperate this cue from theres so there will be no chance of mistaking it one of which is the brianna name on the pin
differant fore arm length differant bumper and length of butt and shaft
plus i call the finish a french polish type finish hope this make you feel better no coning going on here

Having your name engraved on the pin is exactly what I think would be honorable. That's good to know. I'm not here to bust anybody's balls or police the cue world. I just know first hand what it feels like when somebody copies my design ideas & there's nothing I can do about it. I also know what it's like to buy something thinking it is what it's presented to be, only to find out later I was robbed. It always feels sickening. That's why I made the suggestion.

I would figure you could come up with a different ring design than EXACTLY what Southwest uses on their "satin" cues....

Uncanny resemblance, no?

Real deal:

Different shaft taper? Nope, can't see that one... Ferrule length? I didn't notice, really. I did notice your bumper is SLIGHTLY larger...

Seriously, dude... Is there anything original you can do on your own that doesn't copy someone else?

I have a lot of things better to do, but for the love of God - PLEASE quit copying others that have been successful... At least try to make a name for yourself.

Lee, nobody went out looking to find fault in somebody because they have nothing better to do. You posted pics of a cue that is a virtual carbon copy of a SW design, give it a similar "Satin" name and show it with SW cactus joint caps. Nobody had to go looking for anything. You brought it to them.
