From what I've seen he doesn't put the wood pin on conversions, unless otherwise requested. I'm just guessing based on recently searching for the last several cues he has advertised on this forum.

steel is heavier than wood

i used the steel pin and joint to add weight to the conversion. i could use the wood pin, but then i would have to add weight to the butt, which i do not like. butt heavy cues are not for me.

Nice to have front weight. However, I just put some weight in the back of one of Chuck's regular wood screw cues with that old style taper of his. Lights out one pocket or 14.1 cue. Just lights out.

the dia at the middle of the joint is .848

i do not know the year, it could have been anywhere from the 1930's to the 1950's i have been told. i'm sure someone like mr hoppe or manwon could tell you the years they made willie hoppe titlist signature series.

three of the points are dead on with one about 2mm longer.

thank you chuck

If the blank was prior to 1940, then it was a BBC 26 1/2. If it was after 1940, then it was a Titlist Blank. You might be able to date the blank by looking at the splice in the forearm. Are the original stampings still slightly visible?
