JK Marshall 60" Cue Review

I recently received a 60" I guess would be called Merry Widow cue from JK Marshall.

To start with communication was excellent and not only did I learn alot about my cue as it was being made but learned alot about cue manufacturing in general. John is a teacher full time and a part time cue maker. When he found out my normal shooting cue was unraveling (literally) he pulled several late nighters to get the cue done and out to me. Once again above and beyond before the cue even got to me.

Now I have to explain I am tall....not only tall but 35.5" arms....so this was my first foray into a longer cue. This thing is balanced ...wow...it just feels like nothing in my hands....The weight is about 19 oz and it just floats....

I have always been one that I really don't care what the cue looks like as long as it plays like a god....and this one hits solid and IS pretty to match....I went with a birdseye maple forearm with a desert ironwood butt sleeve and linen wrap...the depth of the ironwood made me wish I had the forearm made of it but the weight would not have worked as well...the birdseye is a pretty piece and the wrap merges it all togather nicely. The only complaint is what seems to be a slight discoloration at the butt joint

But what shocks me is the price....I really hate posting it because trust me I have spent more in a night on my tab that what he is charging for these. Matter of fact I am not going to post it because I personally think he is getting mugged and should rethink it up alittle. He has about 15 more almost ready to go and if you have been considering a longer cue or even a normal length...call or email him quick....before he realizes what his work is really worth..
