Here's the Last Omega DPK made in wauconda IL WITH PICTURES! floating pts!

lol sorry ken. I just edited it again. Erik lee is a pretty good judge of value and I described it to him over the phone in great detail including the history of the cue. He told me it should bring no less than 1500 even in a horrible economy. Erik said the value of course is determined by the market, and right now the market is rough. He said in a good market it would be worth aroun 1800-2000. If that's offered, I'd certainly take it:) But i'm not hurting for money right now, so I guess we'll see what happens. To a collector, if requested I will include a letter of authenticy signed my ray hernandez, the last cuemaker to work at omega... I believe he may have been apprenticing at the time) and could even include a poloroid of ray with the cue. Luckily we still have ray around to bless us with his knowledge and presence, he had quite the scare with a heart attack not too long ago! He's a great guy so we're all certainly glad he's still around!

Is there a price somewhere in this?

Im lost as usual.

ken

Ken,
He said that Eric Lee said "this is worth around $1700 or so...and I would like to get about that for it"

OK...he beat me to it...looks like he wants $1500 or so.

Joe

BTW, I would certainly entertain trades for a nice cog if anyone out there has one to trade for a piece of collectible history!

Cues with wood to wood joints are what I'm looking for in a trade. Real Fancy diveney, cognoscentis, carmelli, jim buss cues etc. I'll even consider trading up with some cash for something real nice if there's anyone out there that needs some cash and hugely collectible cue to boot!

almost 600 hits... and only 3 offers? Am I asking too much for this? <---confused. feedback please! lol

What is the butt diameter in thousandth's at the joint ? Is the pin 3/8 x 14 ?
Thanks

Not knocking Erik, but you have to consider, he is a big Omega fan (if not THE biggest). So he isn't going to devalue a cue, especially an Omega cue, and even more so if it could effect the overall value of Omegas.

In other words, if you want to know what a Josswest is worth, don't ask Bill Stroud. If you want to know what a 1923 Johnson-Murphy Thingamajig is worth, don't ask the guy that owns 5 and/or is trying to sell one.

Put the cue on ebay, where there is an entire global audience, with whatever reserve you feel comfortable with and see what happens.

Personally, I don't feel you are off too far, it's just a tough economy right now. And, IMHO, Omega's value are greatly effected by whom actually built the cue. Verified DPK's being most valuable, with M. Benders behind that, and so on (with all other things being equal of course).

Best of luck, it's a good looking cue and I'm sure it plays great!

joint diameter is slightly undersized at .800 ( I've seen omega's finished omegas in the low .830's, so its not dramatically undersized but I'm glad you asked as I don't want anyone to feel mislead at all being that I have only one Itrader thus far) yes the pin is 3/8x14 truncated.
