Salam ,

Here is the situation : in an international snooker game all the reds are potted and only the colors are left. Player A has 42 pionts more than player B by this time which means player B needs more than two snookers to win the frame . Does the frame end or continues

42 behind with 27 on means four snookers and a clearance are needed to win by a point. The frame can continue if the player wants to try for the snookers, but this would very rarely happen in professional events.

If there was one red left there would be a chance of getting a "free ball", which adds a potential 8 more points to the table, so they could then win with two snookers.

The winning player can't call the frame until he's on the black. Before that you can only concede the frame. So theoretically if you ran 120 points and there are only 27 points left on the table via the colours, the losing player is allowed to continue the frame, even though he needs 30 snookers.

If a player hasn't had an opportunity to pot any balls and is left with an easy colour clearance, they may continue and run out just to get warmed up. An example of this would be Stephen Hendry vs. Ken Doherty in the 1994 Uk Championship. Doherty runs a century and Hendry clears up the remaining balls making no attempt to win the frame, just potting practice.

Player A's score is 100 & only the black is on the table . How long do we have to wait for the frame to end ?

Is this 14 times a suggestion ?
Why not , we may take this to consideration .

If player A has 100 points Player B has 0 with only the black remaining - IIRC the example in another thread - three threads started on this subject - and Player A sinks the black, he wins because no balls remain.

If player B sinks the black he loses because no balls remain.

If player A scratches 14 times, player B has 7 X14 = 98 points

if player B now sinks the black, he has 105 points and no balls remain, and player B wins.

Because penalty points are possible, a player may choose to continue the frame even when many snookers are required.

Some frames turn into safety battles. The longest one I've seen lasted about 77 minutes.

Here are some long frames. Snooker isn't just about potting balls.

The rules are here. If you have not read them, it is important for you to do so, especially since you seem to be intent on changing them.

In response to another question: If only the black remains and one player is 8 or more points ahead, the first score or foul ends the frame. This is true even if the player was only 8 points ahead and fouled, leaving him only one point ahead. He still wins the frame.

Mr boob , we all know you wrote the rules but we do also know you are new to snooker , too , and if claim not i can refer you to your own article .

yes, i intend to change the rules if they don't suit Billards .Any objections?

You are wrong . I don't play by your rules . I have my own and ask my students to play by those rules but i also know they are not complete .

I intend to make billiards to the Olympics. How about you ?
They say a lot should be changed including the rules . How about you ?

So you have a solution to what you perceive to be a problem.

Nobody else sees a problem, and you can't come up with actual examples in tournament play.

My answer tried to point out in your scenario how ridiculous it is to expect a player at 100 to scratch multiple times so that a player might win a frame for potting a single ball. Why would the losing player not concede the frame?

If your students wouldn't concede the frame, I suggest you address that problem.

Those are not my students . You just comfirmed the problem by pointing out those matches .
We play snooker by ADIBON's rules&we know they are not complete . Which rule do you play by .
We have to have one&only one rule to get to the Olympics .

A player can continue for as long as he wants. If he is daft enough to try for the snookers fair play, however most sensible people would prob concede and move onto the next frame. Anything more than 3 snookers is a concession in my book

I looker through your site but did not find anything about your book there.

We get one positive vote from you regarding the change in snooker rules ?

Concession must be put aside and have the ref be in charge .
