What's Going on with Saluc

Did you just ask why they chip when you hit them with an axe? You should try baking them in the oven and see what happens to them next.

no but every time i spread my toes apart and use a carpet knife in between to saw back and forth and then pour tabasco sauce on it, it hurts like hell. Hate that!

Dan,

Clearly the real problem you're seeing is that you are bringing the axe head through an incorrect swing plane. I would recommend videotaping several swings and having them analyzed by a professional (or someone in 1st grade - makes no difference).

With the right amount of perseverance and dedication, your ball chipping problem will soon be a thing of the past.

are you following through and slipping your stroke? Maybe its the axe. I have a stone polished head custom made in Finland.....with a custom handle made by meucci it warped perfectly into place, it gave me better ergonomics for power. If i finish my stroke there are no chips...just two halves of a cue ball!

See Dr Daves video-It'll get you straightened out. Chip-ag is bad/cleave-age is good. (eh-ghost?)

Newstroke-thanks for the morning laugh.

Keep em coming.

It's a bit choppy

Don't give up.
This will help you understand half-ball and quarter-ball hits
at a much higher level.

Buy a custom ax. Everyone knows the production axes are not as good.

Oh, and load it up with dinosaur kidney stone inlays.

Good topic.

Lazlo Toth Letters

You're telling us that these are brand new balls, and they're chipping?!?

I think you should write a very polite letter of quality and performance inquiry to Aramith.

Make sure you tell them the type of balls, where you purchased them and when (it doesn't hurt to enclose a copy of your receipt here), fully describe the axe, the aiming method/s you use when striking, and say what surface the balls are on when you stike them.

Tell them all about this chipping problem and see if this is normal, or if they will refund or replace the balls.

I'm sure we'd all like to see their response, too.

Good luck!

Are you cutting to the left or right, everyone knows you need Perfect Aim to solve this problem....geeeeeez

Outrageous

You have definetly been burned!!! I suggest that you take your ax and theses balls to your local Police station slam them down on the sargent on duties desk and proceed to demonstrate this to him. I guarantee you that he will make sure that you get back what's coming to you.

I got a new set of Aramith Pros and everytime I hit them with an ax they chip. Anyone else have this problem?

YES!!!! I have also found that smashing them with a 15 LB sledge hammer makes them shatter. I hate when that happens.

Have you tried dropping them off of the Empire State Building? That really sucks. It also shattered instead of breaking thru the sidewalk. Lost a bet on that one.

I was at the local PH and flushed one down the toilet. Damn did the place flood and the owner got really mad. I told him that I thought it was suppose to float and that I was just trying to clean the CB ball as it had a lot of chalk marks on it.

I was very pleased to read your post. All the kids today use chainsaws. It's nice to know there are still some who respect tradition.
