Fine Handmade Cue Tips
Silver Member
I am introducing my new line of cue tips at the BCA Nationals this week in Las Vegas, at the Joe Blackburn booth.

My jump/break tips are made of 11 laminatons of the best pig skin on the market. These are some of the best breaking tips in the market: Good cue ball control on both the break and on the jump, together with a very firm/solid hit.

Both the hard and medium hard cue tips are made of 11 laminations of pig skin. Both of these cue tips will play the same for the life of the tip. Giving YOU the benefit of consistent play for the life of the tip. And, these cue tips require minimum maintenance and shaping due to their superior quality. So, they'll last longer.

All Madman cue tips are individually made and individually inspected by ME. Each cue tip is pressed one by one.

Sorry, at this time we do not make soft cue tips.

Please P.M. any questions or comments regarding our fine line of genuine pig skin cue tips.

Thank you.

Madman tips are available in 3 different grades; Medium Hard, Hard, and Extra Hard for break/jump cues.

Anyone have a review on one of these tips yet? I'm super curious about them.

My sales have been localized to the southern California area, to date. I am trying to expand my sales AND find someone (hopefully a well known AZer) to evaluate and review my cue tips.

Any volunteers?

If you don't know Juan Rios, he is a good pool player and a very nice guy who comes up with many good ideas for pool. I have a shaft with the Juan Rios handmade tip "Madman". This is a layered tip and plays like a very hard leather tip.

I've been using it and testing it now on my break cue for a few months, going back and forth between a standard break shaft with the Madman Tip and an OB cues break shaft with the Samsara tip.

I really like Juan's Madman hard tip for a dedicated break cue or even a playing cue. Here are my impressions:

- They are really good for a dedicated break cue if you are looking for shot control- no miscues, no problems.

- You could use this tip on a playing cue as well, no problem.

- The tip holds it's shape as well as anything out there. It's a very durable tip.

- The tip breaks good even at larger thicknesses. As a playing tip, I would take it down.

- The impact sound is really good. Very little noise, sounds like leather and solid. It adhere's very well to the ferrule.

- You can jump with this tip, but it's not as hard as the Samsara j/b tip, so you have to hit the shot firmer for the same height. I don't recommend it for a specialized jump cue at this time.

- The Samsara tip jumps easier, but Madman has better break shot control.

- You can draw the ball easily in full confidence with Madman. It holds chalk better than most hard tips.

Juan is truly on the right path with these tips - maybe needs just a little bit more on the specialization.

I've gotten a few of these tips in to try as well. My impressions are the same as TATE's. If you like a hard tip to shoot with, you will like these tips. They break good as well. I'll update after I have some more time in with these tips.

Chris (and Radge, too),

I REALLY appreciate your kind words about my cue tips. I DO try to make the absolutely BEST cue tips that I can. I buy the best pigskin. I take my time selecting the best parts of those skins to use in my cue tips. I take the time and effort necessary to be sure that they are laminated in the best way I can. I'm glad that you are also happy with my tips.

If I may ask ... Lee at LP Custom Cues has posted a review of my cue tips on the Cue Accessories Product Review forum on here. Could I ask you to add your comments to that Review. His review is here: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=190565

I am new in this business and trying to grow my sales. AZ has the best ... and most critical ... pool players on the Internet. I'm sure your comments will be appreciated by all.

Thank you
