i've never been a big fan of the single metal ring as the only ringwork. other than that the cue looks great

Fantastic looking cue! I am a HUGE fan of Mr. Showman's work. His work is almost flawless. I have only held two of his cues and was blown away both times. I WILL have one in the next few years.

Hopefully my friend Steve will still have his by then...

Congratulations to you on a wonderful cue!

I like it!!!!!!

It should be quite a player with the 1\2" ferulles. The veneer s look great also. Nice pick up.

thats called a "Nickle ring", perhaps they used a nickle back in the day for them, it fits the look of the cue. Old school alot of the old Gus, Bushkas had them. I like them on some cues but I get board with them all the time too, so I know what you mean...

did ernie do the wrap for john? I noticed the double "tooling" on each side of the wrap.

No, the previous owner had Ernie do that.
John does some of the best leather wraps I have seen and I have been playing with my cue for two years and the seam is still nearly invisible!! Also John is a bit of an oddball as he said he thinks leather wraps are easier than linen.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, She will be for sale
In a few days as well.
Regards
Peter

Eric - those rings are usually made with nickel-silver, though some use Sterling silver, and some even jeweler's grade silver. Great old school look that I have done on all of my joints for shaft interchangeability's sake.

Ace911 - yes lowered deflection. Lots of makers doing that now - on request.
