Just picked this one up a couple of weeks ago. Anybody have an idea for a price on a early Guffey made with a Spain blank. I did the math on it and counting the rings and boxes in the butt, it has something like 400 little veneers.

I know the caps are a little ugly but that's what I had sitting around to put on it.

as an FYI...Spain made the buttsleeve materials too.

so your cue is a Spain forearm and a Spain buttsleeve...and I would bet the shafts are too...as Burt supplied John the shafts for his cues too

john just cut the parts, glued them and turned them and sprayed them

nice cue

I had a feeling that was the case. There's one in the blue book that's a dead ringer for it. The pin is the only difference I think.

Classic collectable cue!

OT, but does anyone know what happened to JG's shop when he retired?

I have no idea what became of his shop. From what I can gather, he's still selling lazy-boys. I guess he sold it all off. Might have been to Ingram since Jim set John up in biz

friend of mine about 3 years ago convinced john to build him a sneaky pete...found him at the furniture store and begged him :o
