Hey,

sounds great.. you have peaked my intrest !!!

how are you validating skill levels ?

How far are you from Long Island.

What time does the tourney kick off each week ?

Thanks
-Steve

Thanks for your interest Steve

I will take into consideration BCA or TriState rankings along with third party vouching or else my house man (former roady partner of Allen Hopkins) Pete Mizerak, or I will have to clock your game to properly rank you. It will be adjustable either way if it is not appropriate. Also, I always allow the players a voice in certain things and bring it to a vote. If someone's rank is an issue, I will hold a closed ballot for people's honest opinion and consider that as well. It won't be written in stone but considered and monitored.

Most my players have been around and know all the heavy hitters as well. It'll be hard for unknowns to come in and rob the tourneys.

I hold 2 handicapped 9-ball tournaments a week at Sandcastle and Pro's down to D players ALL play in them and ALL levels have won EQUAL amounts of times.

I aim to do the same with the 14.1 tourneys.

Thanks again for your interest and spread the word!

thanks alot...i am seriously considering playing...it is quite a hike for me to come out every week from Long Island, but i think in the long run it is definatly worth it to play in a 14.1 event since there arent many 14.1 tourneys around asside from the worlds. plus it would be great expierience to play in more events.

i spoke to Pat Fleming today and gave him the heads up if he wants to play.
he had asked and i am curious as well, do you have to play every week ? since he has alot of commitments for accu-stats with other events but you have peeked his intrest in possibly playing.

thanks
Steve

Thanks again Steve. Pat Fleming was at Sandcastle when he was looking for a new home for the Accu-Stats arena. We sat and spoke for a while and I loved our conversation. Pat is a GREAT guy and I would LOVE to have him play in the tournaments.

To answer your question....NO. One must only participate in 50% of the events during a session to qualify into the Masters Chapionships. That would be ANY 9 times out of 18 weeks. The details are on the flyer I posted here. There is a payout each week of tournament play and all those who play in half the events AUTOMATICALLY qualify for the $5,000 events.

I look forward to meeting you. Thanks again!

I met Steve a few times, but I never had the opportunity to play him (not that I was anywhere near his incredibly high level). He would be proud of his son for helping to stage this tournament.

Best of luck to Steve Lipsky and his brother Danny Barouty. They should do well in this series. :)

Good shooting to Ralph Panuzzo as well who was our runner-up.

We're just starting out with this Sunday afternoon tournament but I see it growing in the near future as we all put in our efforts to bring straight pool back in the spotlight!

I just got knocked out in the semi-finals. This was my 1st time in Straight Pool competition in over 10 years. How easy we forget the game! Anyhow, I wish the finalists the best of luck in this gentlemanly tournament!

how many players have been showing up?

how late have the tournaments been running?

just trying to see if i can fit these tournaments into my work schedule.
