bar table tournament $45,000 added Feb.22-26, Oroville,California

we are having a tournament in Oroville , Calif. from feb. 22-26 , 2006 . That,s right , $45,000 dollars added . 7-foot diamond bar tables . 2 events , open singles , with $30,000 added and a 4-man team event , with the other $15,000 added to the prize fund . singles entry is $125. 00 before feb. 12 . the team entry is $225.00 before feb. 12 . the singles is a 9-ball event and the team event is 8-ball . Oroville is 1-hr. north of Sacramento. call 503-704-1592 any time for info. Both events double elimination. Guido Orlandi will be doing cue repair and maintanence . Need more vendors . Each match is alternate break, both events. Both events are open to anyone . League or otherwise. This event is followed the following week by the Reno Bar Table tourny at the Sands Regency Casino . I have heard they have added more money at the Reno event to increase the added money to over $30,000.00 . That makes a total of over $75,000.00 added money in 2 weeks of pool tournament . Oroville,Calif. and Reno, Nevada are only 2 hours driving time apart. Really great for serious pool players.

I assume these are open events and one should expect to see a number top pros there???

yes , both events are open events . though the team event will be limited to one pro per team . I am sure there will be a very good turnout of pro's in the singles competition. The pro's are being made aware at events on the east coast prior to this tournament. Also ,this event was scheduled to coinside, with the Reno BarTable at the Sands Regency in Reno,Nevada. The Sands tourny happens the following week . And I've heard they have increased the added money in that tourny .So , the 2 events will be a very good incentive for more players to come West for both of them back-to-back

You do not have to be a league member of any kind to participate. However, in the team tournament, you are only allowed ONE master skilled player. This includes pros, semi-pros, A players, masters, grand masters, etc. All players will be subject to verification to be able to play together. Sign up and good luck!

What kind of equipment will be used?
Are jump sticks allowed?

What are the particular schedules? 2 days for singles, 3 days for team event? Would be a round the clock tournament or would there be a certain time when it starts and stops?

tournament event schedule

the singles start on wed. a bracket every 1-1/2hr. will run thru sun. the team starts on fri. and runs thru sun. the brackets for singles and team events will alternate so players can play both events without conflicting times. the amount of hours of play will be determined by the turnout or number of entries.

Is there a maximum number of players for the singles event?

tournament play

The tables are diamond smart tables. Yes, jump cues are allowed, and there is not a limit on the # of players in the singles. It is a first time event and looking for a really large turnout to make an impression so we can have many more of these events with large added money. Everybody needs a good pool tournament.

U.S. Bar Table Championships

Just a heads up to all. The week following the 45K added event in Oroville, CA is the U.S. Bar Table Championships in Reno, NV at the Sands Regency,
We have 30K added, 15 to each the 9-Ball and 8-Ball divisions. About a two hour drive from Oroville. First prize is 10K per division! 5K bonus if you win them both (Cliff did it two years ago).
This is also an open tournament. All the info and entry form can be found at sandsregency.com and go to 'tournaments'.

That'd be me John. Would be nice to see you again. I always thought you and Tang were the best young players to come out of Hard Times. Get your entry in early (before Feb.15) as the fields could fill this year (256).
Jay
