I purchased a 4 1/2 x 9 locally and it was a nice table - Brazillian Cherry in a mahogany finish.

I inquired at Brunswick and received this information from Joan Ledanski at Brunswick:

Originally offered beginning in 1978, all Prestige models were discontinued
in 2002.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding Brunswick Billiard Tables. Some
portions of the records covering our manufacturing history (1845 to current
day) have been lost due to fire and flood damage throughout the years. We
are pleased to provide what information we have available, and what is
presented here represents the statistics/photos/manuals we have available
to assist you in your search for information.

Technical Information: : From the 1986 Brunswick Billiards Prestige sell
sheet:

Dramatic furniture styling, solid Brazilian cherry construction and
superior craftsmanship are elegantly joined in the Prestige, making it one
of the finest billiard tables available today.

Solid Brazilian cherry rails, aprons and legs feature an 11-step antique
cherry finish providing extraordinary woodgrain depth and clarity.
Leather covered three-iron pockets feature antique finished metal trim and
genuine leather nets.

Three-piece precision ground one-inch framed slate provides a permanent
level playing surface. Professional quality 100% wool billiard cloth
assures professional playability.

SUPERS SPEED® cushions, the standard in the industry, are canvas-backed to
provide optimum playing accuracy and rebound consistency. Brass-finished
stretchers accent the leg assemblies.

The Prestige is available in 8 and 9-foot models in traditional pocket
style only.

Also available with solid wood stretchers.

Finish: Attractive, rich, antique cherry furniture finish.

Construction: Solid Brazilian cherry construction provides superior
strength and rigidity. All wood is kiln-dried and stress relieved to
resist warping.

Base Frame: Base frame is composed of two full-length side beams and four
cross support beams made of solid hardwood. All wood is stress relieved
for maximum strength.

Rails: Solid Brazilian cherry rails are supported by and bolted through
the slate for maximum rigidity. The floating nut plate design allows
rails to be precisely positioned and permanently pulled down to the slate.

Cushions: SUPER SPEED® canvas-backed cushions, the standard of the
industry, provide true ball rebound and roll.

Sights: Brass finished inlaid sights have a maximum tolerance of 30/1000
of an inch for accurate play.

Cloth: Cloth is optional; however Brunswick recommends a professional
quality 100% wool billiard cloth to assure excellent playability.

Pockets: All pocket openings made to exacting industry standards.
Leather-covered three-iron pockets with antique finish and genuine leather
nets.

Bed: Three-piece precision-ground, one-inch full-sized slate is
precision-machined, level to within 10/1000 of an inch and extend beneath
the rails for consistent playability.

Machine nuts and bolts are used for maximum stability.

Last published manufacturer suggested retail price for the Prestige:

Mahogany: MSRP, 8', $8,249.00
Oak: MSRP, 8', $7,999.00

Mahogany: MSRP, 9', $8,999
Oak: MSRP, 9', $8,649

A pristine Brunswick Prestige in mint condition. The lady was down sizing and another dealer offered her $500 for it. We dismantled it and the guy who works with me bought it on the spot.

Something to think about, there's no such 9ft slate 113.3" inches long...LOL, nor an 8ft at 105.3" long

Think she meant outside dimensions? The Prestige we picked up is an OS 8' and a beauty. A steal at $1k!

You got a great deal there. That table was cherry and played like a dream.

I'm 99% sure you are talking about my mom's table. I hope it goes to a good home. Lot's of good memories with that table.

Probably was! South Charlotte right? I felt so bad for her and didn't want to insult her in anyway so asked if she'd like to double the offer. Whoever it was that offered her $500 was ripping her off as far as I'm concerned. BTW, very nice lady!!! You should be proud to call her Mom! Please tell her hello for me.

It is in a good home and I was confused why you wouldn't have taken that table as it's a gem. The guy who bought it had me recover it with the Spruce Simonis 860. He has 2 boys still at home so all of them shoot and fell in love with it. Their 14 year old can't quit playing and has spent hours daily playing so yes, a very good home. Here are a couple of pics I took on my cell:

Good looking table, I have not seen the round sights on the rails, the last set of Orleans rails I had in my hands had mother of pearl diamond rail sights.
Enjoy

Best mom in the world and $500 was a rip off. A couple of reasons I didn't keep that table. One was the size. Being an oversized 8 it would have been just barely too big for my house. Another was a durability concern. As you know that thing was mint condition and I was worried my young kids would screw it up. I would have pained me to see that wood get beat up. I envisioned those beautiful skirts taking a beating.

I bought a Diamond Pro-Am which should hold up well against the life cycle of two kids (3 years and 3 months) and I really like having ball return.

Glad it went to a good home. Looks very stately in spruce. That is its third cover job. It was originally burgandy and then the green you saw when you picked it up. I would guess it was originally purchased in 93ish maybe?

Those sights are small brass medallions with a routed circle so they almost look like bulls eyes...
