Keep an eye on Jesse Engle. If this 19 year kid from Minneapolis can keep his composure it's going to be a long match for Earl.

11-9 Jesse Engle. His aim is almost PERFECT.................

Keep his cool on the big stage............

I'm taking notes...

This young man is going to make some noise in this pool world in the very near future. Maybe needs a little more seasoning but you never know when is enough, already.

It sure would be fun to watch.

Been thinking about this match all day since I viewed the brackets, really pulling for Jesse in this game, would really prove to himself that he can win with the champs especially after his win against Morra.

I thought he was the favorite........

I see him play here almost everyday.

Years back Evelyn that ran the McDermott Tour said this to me after I won a tourny down in Olathe. She said, I wouldn't have given you 5 cents for your spot in the tourny.Do you know that every player in your brackett has won 1 or 2 of these events this year. You had one tough bracket.

My reply was No,correction, They all had one tough bracket.

She said , Well I guess your right.

I was just having fun with here but there was some truth to it.

If these players knew what I know they would be a little worried for sure.

He's going to catch some players totally off guard. Advantage Jesse Engle.

Can't wait to see it..............That's how I feel about Jesse. I they only knew.

It's fine to cheer for the young man and I'm sure he is a fine player. Keep in mind, Earl doesn't just roll over and play dead in a 9 ball match at the US Open. I predict Earl wins 11-3. I'd bet even money on a 11-5 win be Earl, and I've never seen the young man play.

You got action, if you can post, since you don't hve many posts on here. I will bet $100 that Jesse 5's or better.

Geno I have Jesse in a bet I made where I bet on 16 matches...I think there's going to be a handful of 'upsets' today....the favorite don't always get there anyways.

I really really realllyyyyyy wish this match will come up on the TV Table. I hear so many things about Earl this year, that he's in shape, healthier, his mental is at its TOP, he's like the Earl of 90's, but I never get to see him myself, well I saw him on the "Come take it if you can" tour, but that was 7ft table, so I can't judge, but really he was confident, infact he said that he feels that he can score a 6th US Open this year, and he will try so hard to accomplish this.

from this statement, and the way he talks and also the way he handles himself at the table, I think that can be right.

for this I will say, that tonight match will be Earl 11 - 6 over this young kid. I don't know the kid, but its' just my prediction ;)

Earl prediction Upset ?

Earl is in great shape (sometimes runs 8 miles) and is in great form. He's won some of the local/regional tournaments around the south. Don't count him to either fold or not be competitive. The fire still burns in his flat belly !!!

On the scene info

A little report... 2nd hand info from a very good friend of mine who's on the scene and who knows Earl fairly well as a friend. This is somewhat filtered, out of respect for Earl, whom I know a little as well. He's a very private man. I think he'd be ok with the following.

1st, he apparently wants to play Sigel bad, and they would meet next in event they both win their next match. I don't know what their prior history may be, but the two of 'em were talking yesterday and apparently some friendly jabbing was going on in front of Mike's son, whom Mike did not introduce Earl to. Sigel may have been mocking Earl for his claim that he runs 5 miles a day and does a gazillion sit ups and push ups, etc. Earl's conditioning is truly amazing and his desire and dedication to win is strong this year. Imagine that, Mike poking the lion, lol. (BTW AZ's NathanM is doing a video for (maybe) youtube on Earl and others. With Earl's approval. It in part has video of Earl running and working out - also trick shots and whatnot. He was apparently riding in a car video-ing Earl run yesterday morning, lol. Should be a fun vid!).

2nd, in Earl's match against Fillipino Jundel Mazon, as the match was about to start, Earl finds Jundel has a good # of his countrymen in attendence, including a # of the playing Pinoy big boys. Apparently, and let's put it this way, Earl may have preferred it otherwise and may have made a comment or two. Who knows, but Earl may have felt it was kinda like him against all of the Phillipines... It was a tight match, knotted at 6 when Jundel reportedly dogged the 8. Earl gets out and B&R's the next 2, took control, and brought home the W. This surely was a good test for Earl's mental strength.

Anyone who saw last year's Open match with Earl against Lee Van in winners F16 saw that Lee had a VERY vocal contingency with him - it was over the top and an intentional crowd shark IMO. Poor form! Well, Earl didn't take to it nor perform well, Jay H reffed from a ringside position, and Lee Van jumped out to a near insurmountable lead. Lee won handily after a late rally by Earl fell short.

So here comes Jesse vs Earl. Jesse is a big underdog IMO.

Maye I'm biased, because I get to the Open tomorrow morning, and I REALLY want to see Sigel and Earl play tomorrow! Can you imagine the comments that could come out of this match? Who's more vocal than these two?!!

I see Earl going fairly deep this year. What a coup it would be for him to get a ring for the other hand! GO EARL!

That would be an awesome match, I think Earl would win 11-7.

For the record while Earl is a favorite in his match...Sigel is in very tough for his match. I doubt they will be playing each other on the winners side. Let's just say that.

What is the basis of your prediction?

Thanks!

I'm taking all bets on this 11-5.

I just called the bank to sell my house quick in case I get an avalanche of bets.:rotflmao1:

All kidding aside I will bet up to $2000 on this for sure. I think Jesse could go blind and still cover that the way he's playing. If the young guy can keep his composure playing one of the greatest and admired players of all time.

Alot for a young gun, 19 yr old to chew on.

If Jesse plays his top game nobody there needs to win. The question is the same with everyone there. Will they be able to play their top game every match?

I guessw that's why we have a tournament. To see who can.

If anyone wants that 11 to 5 bet I'll even make it 11 to 6.

Send me a message and let me know how to bet it here. Is there someplace to post the money? I've never done this before on the internet.

I'm going off...........

Glad you asked Joey A...............

What is the basis of your prediction?

Thanks!

GO EARRRRRRRRRRRRL!

Hi there Joey,

Seeing as I couldn't play this year myself I have gotten pretty pumped about some of our young guns from the Twin Cities here. I live in St Paul right now redoing the Perfect Aim video and I've gotten a chance to see a couple of these young guns and how they take care of business. I wish I would have had their work ethics when I was their age.

I'm playing with them on a daily basis and I'm impressed.

Once the new video is complete I might take one of these young guns with me on some Perfect aim trips. It would be real fun to see how they stand up against other players around the country. I think they would do just fine.

Jesse and Beau are going to turn some heads I hope in the US open.

In fact they are going to turn heads whereever they play.

It's going to be alot of fun.........and I like fun................

Thanks again for asking........geno...........

My paypal account Joey, if you have paypal and would like to wager a little something on it I sure will.

I seldome wager on other people. It just doesn't do it for me and never has. I don't know why except that it doesn't interest me.

However, if you are offering that line that Jesse won't 5, you may have some action with others, fo shizzle.

But still,,,,
Go Earrrrrrrrrrrrrl!
