I have bad news concerning Tom Ross, long-time players, coach, instructional author (for BD, Cue Times, and Ozone Billiards), and my partner on the VEPS project.
Tom had a stroke earlier this week. I visited him in Denver Health hospital today, and it was very upsetting to see him and hear about his status. He is still on a breathing tube, still has lots of swelling (from surgery), is showing little or no signs of motion on his right side, and is in a drug-induced "heavy sedation" (to keep him as calm as possible to heal better). We won't know the long-term prognosis until the swelling goes down and he becomes fully conscious. I'll post updates as things change.
I know some of you know or have met Tom, so I thought you would want to know. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Dave
