Coming Soon... the end of all aiming system calculating.

Yep, I've got a gift for all this holiday season coming soon.

I've talked about the only simple aiming system that both doesn't require guessing what the heck a quarter ball or half ball is.

It doesn't require figuring out where an inch and an eighth space from the object ball is so you can envision a ghost ball that in and of itself doesn't even exist.

It doesn't require ANY compensation for left or right english.

It doesn't require you to sway or twist your backhand during your stroke. (which IMO is frigging ridiculous)

I've been preaching an aiming system so simple that even I, an old brain dead fart, who can't remember his own name without checking his drivers license kind of guy can use INSTANTLY and with complete success.

What it does do is takes all or as much as possible, all the estimating out of aiming.

It boils down all the cryptic hard to understand, and calculate aiming systems, to unnecessary, and no longer worthy of hair pulling.

It renders all other aiming systems merely secondary, for amusement purposes only, things needed only for idle chat.

It's what I've been saying right along and now .... I found the video clip of it. Yep, I tossed my basement, I tossed my room, I threw CDs and DVDs all over the house. But I found it. I found affirmation that I'm not crazy. :)
Now you won't have to believe me, now you can watch it and see how ridiculously simple and effective it is.

The eternal problem with aiming is the curvature of the balls and the aiming point and contact point being different since the leading edge of the OB and CB interfere with the actual contact point and mandate that the aiming point has to be compensated for with all these elaborate systems.

Well, I told you it wasn't necessary, but now you can see it. This simple little seemingly insignificant system makes the aiming point and the contact point one and the same and all the bull%%@$ is gone.

That's the good news, the bad news is I have to figure out how to upload it. Vimeo isn't sending me an email confirmation so I can upload. I'm going to have some Thanksgiving dinner and pie ... but with all this aiming system chatter I thought it would be fun to give you something to look forward to seeing.... :)

I'll post back as soon as I get it uploaded.

Nope, its old, and I hope the gentleman who did this doesn't mine me sharing it. I don't know where it came from originally. I've searched for it to see if it was something being sold and I can't find any info on it, so I hope it's ok to share.

Shoot, he may even be a poster here on the forum for all I know. So I hope I'm not doing anything wrong. This was buried under a ton of old books. I downloaded it myself from the internet a few years ago and saved it on a CD. I think it was from Youtube.

I'll get it posted asap. I'm sure the guy that made it a great player that many may know, but it's just a short blip I found a while back. So, I'm working on it. :)

Alright, I just viewed this after years. This is done by a fellow named Dave Mollen, or Mullen I believe, I can't tell what he is saying.

If anyone knows if this is something he wouldn't want posted, or if Dave is out there, please let me know I'm not doing anything wrong. :)

If not I'll get it up for all to see.

Apparently it was at one time put out as a VHS tape

Oh boy, this is what I was concerned with. I did a stream capture from youtube ( I think it was youtube) years ago. When Mikjary kidded with me, he got me thinking this may be something I shouldn't post.

What do you all think? Anyone know this fellow Dave?

This may have to go on hold, I sure don't want to do something wrong. Maybe Dave himself put it up on youtube back when.

Dave ... If you're out there, let me know if we can share your video.

If it is no longer sold on the market I seriously doubt you would have anything to worry about. Why would an author come after someone or even have a case of harm caused when he is not making a red cent from the product. What the heck would a judge award him?

This is a very good system .You use your tip and the contact point. This system falls short when a certain angle is reached.
All systems require adjustments there's is noway around it.
Not only will you need to make adjustments for the system but different shafts will produce different results.

I had googled it and all the information I found was that it came about around 1999.In some old forums some had liked it and some did not.No 2 people are alike.just like many would argue the best way to make a bank shot.It did say it's only 7-10 minutes in length.Looking forward to it.

Coming soon

The judge can award him $50,000.00 per violation.
I would enjoy debateing this in detail with anyone who is not just {surmising}

So, is there a way for you to email it to us individually?

I'd like to see it !!!

If I'm not mistaken this tape or a similar one (that guys' name sounds familiar) was advertised in Billiards Digest and was reviewed by George Fels as he would occasionally reviews books videos etc. If Mr Fels sees this he might have something to add.

Good luck getting it. From someone who has been there defending his own intellectual property and spent north of 50k doing it only to get a cease and desist order out of it. At 50k per violation I'd have been RICH assuming I could have ever collected.

Most likely all that happens is the person who put it up on a video sharing site is told to take it down.

If it's a clip and is being shown for the purpose of critique or parody then there is no violation under the Fair Use.

If the information is really good then perhaps it could lead to a revival of sales for Dave Mullen.

OK, here it is, set up for the forum only to enjoy

I've been playing this way for a long time. It actually doesn't fall short even when steeper angles are reached if your alignment is good and you stay down with a parallel stroke, cue to table, right over the line.

It may not feel right at first, on longer shots it may actually seem the CB is rolling off to the OB, but all you have to do is simply "TRUST" and smooth stroke it in. :)

Aside from a shot where the contact point isn't even visible and you have to twirl the OB in, this system is ridiculously accurate and simple. It makes all the other mumbo jumbo jumping through hoops systems silly to labor over.

The other thing I always say is without that true stroke, nothing is gonna work. But with that said, it makes all these other extravagant systems almost laughable to me.

Remember using the sides of the cue for alignment is the secret to overcoming the difference between aiming point and contact point, making them ONE AND THE SAME. :)

OK ..... here it is ... I hope you enjoy it. I have password protected it so only us folk here will enjoy it.

If Dave is out there and he doesn't want us to share, just PM me and it's gone. Otherwise Thanks DAVE!!!! Great info.

Here is the password without the quotes--> "thanks dave"

This was my point and since Dave Mullen is no longer profiting from the sale on this video their is no harm or foul. I'd never advise someone share someones intellectual property if it would effect income and profits! That could lead to a messy court case.

As an addendum to this:

Shane Van Boening stated on a TAR broadcast that he uses HIS FERRULE to aim with. He was very clear to say that he thinks aiming systems which use the cueball are wrong. He didn't elaborate on his method though and was called away before he could.

Hal Houle spoke of stick methods to me in 2002 when we met in Denver. I didn't listen.

I would love to hear what Shane does because obviously he has reached a level where his personal results are undeniable.
