What you DON'T know is that Mr. Scalas has been an extremely unreasonable person to deal with regarding the World Cup. He refused to put any agreement into writing and insisted that we simply "trust" him. Mr. Scalas does not realize that is NOT the way things are done in the United States and in the business world. When we insisted, he ranted and raved and accused us of not "trusting" him and insulting him.
The board of directors just called me and the agreement between the USBA and me for the World Cup passed 8 yes 3 no and is the reason why Mr Shovak is very angry because he has to send out the email to all the world with the apology regarding his previous statements.
Bob Jewett flew out to Las Vegas at his own expense just to help Mr. Scalas with the World Cup. Mr. Bob Jewett is no longer interested in being involved with the World Cup and no longer wishes to speak with Mr. Scalas at all. What does that tell you?
Yes I will explain what happened: Mr. Jewett answered one email direct to me in AZ BILLIARDS FORUM with no authority or my permission on November 8 2010 regarding some questions about the World Cup in Las Vegas. When I asked him why he said it was not right and apologized for the big mistake for the posting. He asked how he could fix the error and I said you made the statement and now you have to fix it. The day after he made a correction in the AZ BILLIARD FORUM .
He also has yelled at me on the phone as if he is my boss or something. I told him where to go.
Not true, you did not have the nerve to tell me anything. Your voice was very low, like a person who did something wrong because you had just sent an email November 10, 2010 around the world saying the Las Vegas World Cup was in doubt.
Bruce Warner was amazingly patient with Ermanno.but talking to a brick wall is not so easy.
Ermanno was amazingly patient answering all the questions Bruce and Jim asked him. Not enough, there was new and different questions every day. Why? Because they wanted Ermanno to give up the World Cup. in trying to reach an agreement, Never, their only way was for Ermanno to give up just as other members or directors have in the past when trying to promote the sport of billiards.
Mr. Scalas sent an email to the Board calling for the resignation of Bruce Warner. Bruce resigned the next day.

Correct. Because you have not read the letter I sent to Bruce which was for you too so let someone else read the letter and explain it to you.
That will not happen if I can help it. Mr. Scalas has also overstepped his authority by trying to insert Jerry Karsh into the Presidency.
As a USBA member I made a proposal.
See attachment. Apparently, Mr. Karsh had nothing to do with it, so I certainly do not fault him. But it has become apparent that Mr. Scalas has been trying to "take over" the USBA and mold it into what HE wants it to be. Instead of going through the normal channels, he apparently is trying a hostile takeover.
Incorrect, as you know I do not have any wish to become an officer even tho I have the right. I am a promoter of the sport of billiards and I spend my money for this, not the money of the members.
I will make sure that doesn't happen.
Wrong again, do you understand you are just 1 vote out of 11, the board has the authority.
If the Board wants Mr. Scalas as their boss, then they can have him,

I will not work with such an individual and I will not allow him any position of authority within the USBA if I can help it.
Do you know what democracy is? I suggest you go back to school so you are able to learn something and when you do, come back and we can talk.
Regarding certain allegations that Mr. Scalas has mentioned, let me explain something to everyone including Mr. Scalas:
Not ONE dollar of membership dues is used for Tournament Prize Funds. Every dollar that is used comes in from donations from individual sponsors such as myself, David Levine, Bob Jewett and many others. Membership dues are used to pay normal expenses and our biggest expense is sending our top players to compete in the Pan American Championship and the World Championship.
It is very wrong. You cannot spend the member dues for this because the USBA is a non-profit organization unless you have membership approval and pay the appropriate taxes. I do not know what the IRS will say about this. By the way, your responsibility is to show every member the financial statement and I know in the last 4 years of your office you have never shown the members and board of directors any statement or tax return.
I would advise everyone to NOT respond to Mr. Scalas' emails, because once you do, he will have your email address and you will never get any peace.
Wrong again. Are you entitled to tell the members what to do or not to do. Dictatorship?
I have a question for all of you. If Bob Jewett of all people does not wish to deal with us, if Bruce Warner doesn't, if Jim Shovak and also Charles Brown do not, what does that tell you? You make the call.
