I took this cue in trade and have no use for it. I was told that this was Carlos Hallon's cue made to his specs and it was a Helmstetter. He sold it for $450 while visiting Denver in the 1990's. I have played w/Carlos' cue in the past and one of the shafts definitely feels similar to his taper, so I believed him and made the trade, no paperwork stating such, just his word. It plays really solid and it should make someone very happy.
It has 2 original shafts and straight, plus one pool tapered shaft that is 2" longer that can be tapered to taste (3 shafts total). The 3rd shaft was donated to the cause by Bud Green and has a slight bend to it (tip raises up a little when rolled (maybe less than a 1.4"), but plays nicely.
I would do SOLD.
You can see it's used and probably 20 years old or so, but a solid cue. You can see one of the shafts had the tip of the wooden doll chipped off and there are some dings, especially at the buttcap area - This is the exact shape as when I traded.
Shaft 1: 11.72mm at tip; 13.1mm about 5" down; about 14.2mm 5" down from that so you get an idea of the taper. 4.155oz
Shaft 2: 11.6mm at tip; 13.4mm about 5" down; about 14.8mm 5" down from that so you get an idea of the taper. 3.825oz
All measurements are approximate, but close - weights are accurate.
Butt: 14.38oz
Length: about 55 1/2, maybe 56" (I measured against one of my 58" cues).
Thanks for looking.
Dave
