The cue has been confirmed as being authentic by Tim Scruggs and Jeff Wolfe.
I will be relisting it in another thread.

Very Nice cue here...I've never seen a sneaky with this ring work...

I'd have to think this is a unique and considerably rare Sneaky from Mr. Scruggs.

Good Luck with your Sale !!!

That is my understanding. That combined with the phenolic joint makes it a desirable piece.

Thank you.

I like the cue and I'm interested.......just a small question, why is the TS at a angle....is it just the pic......can you take a better picture and post or is it angled I have owned only 4 Scruggs but none of mine were like this.

My thought is that the cue has been reworked by Tim or someone else due to the difference in total lengths, angled TS and odd ringwork. (The long shaft or the butt is 3/16" in shorter than any TS sneaky I've seen. ) The Diameters are also off.

The T is in the form of an italic and the S is in normal font. The picture is accurate in its representation. I am not sure how many years Tim used that particular marquee.

Of that I can not tell you. The nature of the history of the cue is unknown to me.

However all the ringwork is matching. The color of the tulip wood is consistent and suggests it all came from the same piece.
Both shafts are also of matched weight. Which may suggest it is more on purpose than by coincidence. 2.8 oz for a shaft is an odd weight.

It definatly looks to be custom done the way someone wanted it built. It must have taken pain to get the shafts the same weight being different lengths.

It would be nice if someone could contact Tim Scruggs about this cue. I'm sure he would remember biulding it since it is so different than most of his other sneakies.

It would have to be someone that knows Tim personally as he is now retired.

Nice looking sneaky. I just have never seen a Scruggs with that logo. Every logo I have ever seen by them has been 100% vertical. No angle at all. Where did you get it? Are you the original owner? Thanks.

I picked it up at a pool hall I used to play in. I'm not the original owner.
I have had it about 5-6 years and the pool owner had it for at least 10 and he was not the original owner.
Thats about the size of it.

The TS looks right. My first thought was that someone reworked the cue and used the TS butt cap which was chipped. It was cut off on an angle and squared up on top which makes the slant. Joint collars added. ( The butt cap is thinner than normal. ) Some can tell if scruggs made the shafts with a close up picture of the end of the piloted joints.

If the top of a butt cap was cut off at an angle, the bottom of the butt cap would no longer be "in round" with the butt of the cue....it would stick out on one side and not be even (undersize) on the other.

I really really like this sneaky pete.... but like the other posters have stated..the logo has me really thrown off. of the hundreds of the Scruggs cues i've seen with logos..this is the only one with a slanted "T".

When I first got the cue I was trying to find out the time frame it was built. I came across a series of Tims marquee's. It is the only reason I can state with any assuredly that the cue is 80's vintage.

Notice the top of the T is parallel to the ring work. The S is perpendicular to the top of the T. The entire marquee is alined properly with the body of the cue.
The installation of the marquee appears to be perfect and deliberate.

Bump............
