Murphy cue leans for tables....

Anyone know where you can buy the Murphy cue lean things that you see on tables and such at pool halls?

Would love to find a few so I can scatter them around my game room to keep cues off the walls!

Any help would be appreciated....
 
The qclaws are great, I have a 3 and a 4(or is it 5?) slot one in my game room. I take the 3 slot one with me when I go out to bars to shoot.
 
I have two cue claws in my game room already (a 5 and a 2) and a 3 in my pool case. I'm looking for these to screw onto some little shelves I have along the wall that are there for people to set their drinks on. I don't want the cue claws for those as it takes up space on the shelf even if someone isn't using it. I like these Murphy ones for this case as they screw onto the side of the shelf and don't take up any valuable space that is better served for setting your beer bottle on :)

To give you an idea, I have these from Ikea

It's sold as the Ribba picture ledge... But, it perfectly fits a bottle of beer on it. Even fits a bottle that has a neoprene coozie on it. They jut out very little and the lip on the front edge is great because it keeps the bottle from getting knocked off. Plus, because of the lip, even if I wanted to put a cue claw on it, I couldn't... Unless I wanted to mount it upside down on the bottom edge somehow, but that would look a bit silly...

Plus, these shelves are only $9/each!

Russ Murphy, greater Minneapolis, was the inventor of the rest. It was produced at his machine shop. Mr. Murphy, avid pool player and supporter, died a few years ago and I'm not sure if they are making this product anymore.

You can contact the shop at:

Let us know if they are making them. They are one of the best products out there to permanently attach to the player table for holding cues. If they are available, I do recommend them to all the ROs out there.

It's possible that one of the rooms you saw them in might have a few back-ups. They might sell one to you.
 
when I was thinking this would be duck soup for somebody with a computer lathe...already been done, :)

Heard back from Murphy Machining. They haven't made any in a number of years, but they think they may still have a number of them sitting in a box somewhere. He's going to get back to me if he can find them.

I guess they made them in 3 styles, a straight one, one that could be curved to fit on round tables, and a comb like one that mounted under the edge of the table.

If they have some left, I'll let people know what they have if anyone else might be interested.

That will first depend on if the place that made them originally finds them. And if not, what the cost would be for someone else to sell them.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a market for these, especially to people who want them for home use like myself.
