So far I've read:

Playing off the rail
Sweet
Hustler and the champ (fav)
Run out
Cornbread red (fav)
Hustler days (another fav)

Any others I should pick up?

also Freddy mixes in stories in both of his Banking with the Beard books too

"Road Player" by Danny DiLiberto and "Rags to Rifleman" by Buddy Hall are both great books. Buddy's book is hard to find though, it's been out of print for years and for reasons I do not understand, there hasn't been a second printing. Also if you're in to one pocket, "Winning One Pocket" and "Shots, Moves and Strategies" by Eddie Robbins are excellent but those too are tough and expensive to come by.

I dont see The GosPool of Bank Pool by Freddy the Beard Bentivegna on your list. Thats my personal favorite. It helps that I am Freddy the Beard Bentivegna, but the GosPool is replete with photos and many road stories. On top of that half the book is dedicated to excellent bank pool instruction.

Beard
I sells 'em on my site, personally autographed to da buyer.

Intro to Physics Volume 1 Kinematics,
specifically chapters on inelastic/elastic collisions, velocity, acceleration, torsion and force and kinetic work energy theorem.

Wow..

Physics huh.. I'm looking for entertainment man, keep it "dumbed down" I'm just a pool player, not a rocket scientist!

Yeah I should have thought of that myself, but I didn't buy the book yet. I did buy both DVD's and I highly recommend them. Will have to pick up the book next time I see ya Freddie.

Bobby Cotton's book, Confessions Of A Pool Hustler, was full of great road stories.

Best,
Mike

If you have never read the Color of Money, do yourself a favor and read it. The story is nothing like the movie. Also, a little known book called the Lion and the Lambs is an interesting read about players back in the sixties (hard to find).

Read Peter Rabbit Book.

How to Get by Without Working A Hustler's Memoirs

The life and death of cue ball: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdhuHAtUtqM

I made pretty pictures. The cue ball lives to start its run. When the run ends the cue ball is alone and surrounded by nothing but the emptiness that it created after pushing the other balls into hiding.

I second The Color of Money but first read The Hustler. Both books are much more about the game and the obsession involved, than the film versions showed. The writer, Walter Tevis did play pool and has a real understanding of how a competitor thinks...

Also check out another Tevis book, The Queen's Gambit, it is about a female chess player but I found a lot of symmetry to pool. I just read it for the 2nd time and it is one of my top 5 all time favorite books.

Pleasures of Small Motions

Pleasures of Small Motions: Mastering the Mental Game of Pocket Billiards

Good book about the mental aspect of the game.
