I picked up an old It's George

At 1am on Sunday night this case was offered to me. I've never seen a tooled George case. Seems perfect for an old Joss cue.

Whitten offered their first elephant cases at the show. This 1X2 had some great detail in the hide.

The catch of the show for me was to acquire Art Cantando's cue case. Art Made 3 cases total. 2 remain with the family (NFS). This is the only case Art ever sold. I asked him to build one for me and he said it required about 5000 stitches to build the way he wanted. He said he'd never do a 4th case. This one is the most highly tooled of the 3. Thank you Cosmo and Bogey for helping me get into this case. It means a lot to me.
Enjoy the pics.

You are the man, There are as rare as you can get, Thanks for posting for us

Cantando

Drawman,
It was a huge pleasure getting to meet you at SBE. Thank you so much for sharing all your cues, cases, and personal history so candidly with everyone. I know lots of people will agree with me when I say you are an absolute asset to the pool world. (The Cantando 'knock out' story is one of the funniest pool related stories I've ever heard!) Your love for the sport is immeasurable.

Glad you posted pics of this case. I'm even more glad I had the opportunity to see it up close in person! What a unique treat. Art was a rare and gifted bird. This case could not be in better hands. Thanks again for everything and I look forward to seeing you again next year. Talk to you soon! ~Rex

I can tell you with some certainty that if Art were here today and had a chance to see your work, he would be the one blown away. That was the best thing about Art...he was all about the truth.

How did I miss the fact that you picked up the elephant case from the Whittens?
I would have wanted to see that one up close as I love their 1x2's.

Great pick up!
If there are any empty cases in your collection, just remember you can always get more cues.

Great cases Gian, especially the Cantando and the tooled It's George. I have a tooled 2x4 It's George black leather also. It is slightly modified from their standard tooling on your case. I have a full rack of balls (as in 8-ball) and cue ball without the hand. This is the only other one I have seen aside from my case and the one Guy has.

I really like your cases,all 3.
I used to own a centenniel with horses close to what yours has
Wil Prout now owns mine and I miss it

Hello Gian,

Nice find.

Had a great time at VF. You did a superior job in your booth at the show.

Until that time,

The Cantando popped out of place.
Congradulations,
Nick :)

That Whitten case is a great piece of elephant. It is the first one Joe made and he chose to double stitch the trim as a subtle reminder. Ernie Gutierrez skived the hide. They don't really photograph well, but there are a few nice scars where the elephant must have stomped out a lion or something. I'm really happy with it.

What a wonderful bunch of cases...

I LOVE the Whitten. Do they plan on doing more? (I apologize for the silly question)

Mr. Cantando was such a talented and diverse man. I wish I had a chance to meet him.

Thanks for sharing,
Chris

Joe had a second case at the show that sold I believe. I think he was considering Hippo next which has the figure of elephant but the feeling of velvet. In any case, if the demand is there, I'm sure Whitten will deliver the product.

Man that Whitten is definitely neato!...and the AC case is a rare jewel indeed.
Thanks for sharing, otherwise I'd never get to see all this cool stuff! :)
