New forum restriction

I had an interesting surprise a moment ago. I can no longer access some of the forum sections because I don't have 25 posts. Is this intentional or did someone accidentally flip a switch?

I suggested to Mike a few moments ago, and apparently he had already implemented the restriction. Although it doesn't completely address the concerns, it provides a slight firewall to prevent anyone from the Internet to view threads and discussions with which raffles and cash are involved. It also encourages forum members to be more active in other sections of the forum, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, IMHO.

it could very well be a sc5 rule. Apparently he can't handle being banned and creates new usernames as fast as they delete them. Creates a lot of unnecessary work for the admins that could be better spent on more important matters.

Well if he's like some of the other trolls I've seen here, 25 posts will take all of 2 minutes.

I think 25 posts is not a big deal. Like you said, you can accumulate that many in an extremely short time if that was your goal. If you're going to make a restriction, make it 100 IMO. I do like the idea of blocking the content of those two areas specifically.

what was the other room blocked besides action room?

When I used to moderate one of the biggest forums on the web, we restricted our members to first comment 100 posts before they had access to the advertising forum, and the 100 posts were only counted from the main forum, so the 'test area' and the 'introduce yourself' posts didn't count. I believe now they even count reputation into account before new members have access to the advertising forum.
