OK, this wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I launched iMovie on my Early 2011 MacBook Pro this morning. I was surprised to see how mature iMovie is now compared to just a few years ago. It's packed with a bunch of templates, and if you go to YouTube you'll find lots of really easy tutorials on how to do stuff. I should mention there's built in support for publishing to Vimeo. :)

Anyway, 14-1StraightMan is warming up for his Summer 2011 quest to bust through the 200 ball barrier. I'm rooting him on from the sidelines. Well, I'm actually trying to give him some competition, but I'm not yet comfortable with my cue (still feels foreign in my hands).

I set up a Vimeo site:

I'm uploading my first video. It's a trailer for a forthcoming video, due out in Summer 2011. It might take an hour or so to upload since I signed up for the FREE account, so my upload is queued up to start in about 30 minutes.

It's in high definition...make sure you go FULL SCREEN and make sure the HD icon is enabled (should be BLUE)...

Omg that was incredible, now I want a Mac book !!!

Trailer looks really professional and I can't wait to see mikey break through the 200 mark, I know he has it in him !!!!

Why did you remove the trailer...I Thought it was fantastic !!!!

Hi stevekur1, the video is still there. I had to fix a couple of typos on the credits. I also swapped out one of the break shots (the one where the cue ball got stuck in the back of the rack) for a better one. :)

Don't forget to go full screen...it's 720 high resolution...

Don, Thanks so much for the video. I love it. Special Thanks for having so much confidence in me. It is a great goal.

I don't know either of you guys, but that was one funny trailer, especially the credits at the end. Good job!

I kind of thought somebody was going to run some balls after the credits, then I got the joke.

So funny

Costume Designer........ That is so funny....... I was really dressed up for this video....... Well, at least I did not have my Pj's on........ LOL

great production! Is that your new cam? Very good quality. But I'm impressed with the editing.

Given all the 70's and 80's you've run along the way, plus all the time you have to play, I don't doubt at all you'll hit 200. Ya gotta raise the bar every time you touch it. Otherwise you stagnate. :)

Yep, it's the Sanyo VPC-GH4. My first video camera, I'm very impressed at what it can do. 14-1StraightMan has a small shelf in his home poolroom, so I bought a GorillaPod (on advice from wigglybridge - thanks!). I picked up a couple 16G SDHC cards and an extra battery, although I ran off AC all the time.

I used iMovie '11, and you can trust me...I have no clue what I'm doing. iMovie makes it easy by including templates for this stuff, and upload options to send the clip to Vimeo. These gadgets and applications are maturing over time, making things easy for mere mortals. :)

EDIT: Yikes!!! I just noticed Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection includes Premiure Pro! Hmm....

Yea the dig should be at least listed in the credits... I mean even a gaffer and stunt doubles get listed in major motion pictures!!!!

Happy But........

I just ran 45 balls. Made a combo along the rail and sent the 2nd ball away from the rail too far. Had a hard back-wards cut on it and missed it. I pushed the ball in the pocket and then ran 85 from there, ending with a long shot that was makable but I missed it.

PS: Yes Stevie, it's on video but I am trying to get a run over 100. Hopefully soon.

87

Ran 87 late last night. I missed a long shot that was very makable to end the run. I had a combination shot that I passed up b/c I was not sure of it (small path window) to pocket the ball. After I missed the long shot. I set the cue back and made the combination..... Of course it went right in......

Tonight might be "PoolMouse" night....... come on PoolMouse

PS: My good friend Vahmurka.
Yes, I have the 85 from the other night on video & this 87 with the stupid miss on video.
Will post something this weekend.

Couldn't make it Friday night, but it's Saturday and I'm raring to go. Both batteries on the camcorder are charged. Got three 16G flash cards. All rested up.

I'll ping you so we can meet, hopefully in early afternoon (2PM?). I need to be in Frisco at 8PM to meet my work buddies for UFC 131. :)

Lol......

That's right. "If a tree falls in the forest and noone's around to see or hear it, it didn't fall."

:p :D

Played "PoolMouse" two matches tonight. He had plans to watch the UFC fight with some friends, so he could not stay long.
I believe in match two, I had a run in the low 70's. I am not sure of the correct number. He needs to view the recording.
Anyways, watch out for fallen trees.... LOL
