Anybody ever used one? Some feedback would be much appreciated.

Tony has a little sale going on, thought about picking some up, but unsure as to how they compare to the Pro line of his tips.

Thanks,
Shorty

They are the only tip I have used in the last 4 or 5 years. I never have to do any maintenance on the tip and the shape remains the same. They last me about 6 months and that is playing anywhere from 2 to 4 hours everyday.

I've shot with all their tips, the WB is definitely harder. Gotta watch out more for miscues. Can do some incredible things with the tip though. My favorite Talisman tip is the Medium Pro tip.

I agree with Flex. The medium pro is very similar in feel and chalk holding ability as my formerly used tip the LePro. The talisman is a better tip as it holds it's shape longer, last longer and holds chalk very well. I highly recommend any of the Talisman products.

I've used them before and ended up using the Pro instead of the WB. But I don't like the feel of hard tips on my shooting cue. Talisman Pro Soft is my favorite for now.

Hey shorty the tips are pretty good I have tryed them a few times. They seem to have a nice firm hit to them and hold there shape well.To me they kinda hit like a nice pressed triangle tip.Firm hit and still gets plenty of action on the ball.jmo

Shorty,
I have used them for a little over a year. I have one on each shaft of my schuler. They hit real good and have a good feel. But Flex was right about the miscues. I really like 'em but you need to do some gentle maintenance from time to time to keep the miscues from happening. Have had 1 tip on for a year and has not lost it's shape.
Another good tip is the med/hard original hercules. Not the H2!!!! these are junk!! Bought some off of ebay and was totally disappointed. Did not measure up to original.
Hope this helps!!

Shorty, buy them on eBay......

Tony is offering 3 tips (plus 1 break cue tip?) for about $20 after the special discount he is offering. Why don't you go on eBay and there is a seller always selling 6 tips for about $30.......that's where I'm going to get mine.....I think the seller's eBay name is "sticman" or something like that.....I will be trying to bid on the Pro Medium Talismans........also I emailed this seller and he informed me that he has both "domed" and "undomed"....I much prefer the "domed" ones...........I've only used the Talisman Pro Hard tips which I like very much......but my mentor noted that with the amount of sidespin I use (probably to my detriment)....I might be better off with the Pro Medium......so I'm trying them......next I might even try the Pro Soft.......eventually I might try the WB tips but no need to right now.....

Shorty, on another forum, one of the posters said he had used both the domed and the undomed tips, and he said that the undomed tips play better. I can't vouch for whether or not that is true, as I've always used the domed ones, and they've been just fine.

As for bidding for them on eBay, I'm sure you know you'll have practically no recourse if you are unsatisfied with them for any reason. Except you can try to get the seller to take them back and so on. Possible trouble and hassle there. However if you order them from the Talisman website, they offer a pretty iron-clad guarantee.

Here's what it says on their website:

http://www.talismanbilliards.com/TalismanCueTipsPRO.asp

All purchases are covered by our 100% satisfaction "BETTER THAN MONEY BACK" guarantee. If you do not feel that Talisman tips are the tips you are looking for you can return them for a prompt and courteous FULL refund. I will also go further with this guarantee, by offering an additional $10 in cash to cover any installation costs you may have incurred. I am so sure that you will be happy with your purchase that I am willing to even offer to pay for installation of the tip if you are not satisfied. All credit card purchases made on this website are fully encrypted using the latest technology. We have never had one credit card problem reported by any customer in over 5 years of web site operation.

I've purchased from them online twice. No problems. Orders are now sent out from Illinois, meaning they'll get to you pretty quickly.

That's the way to go, IMHO.

Best,

Flex

P.S. No, I don't work for them!! LOL

I've already bought from Sticman......on eBay

Yo Flex....chill out a little.....we're not talking about a $2500 Tim Scruggs custom cue here.....we're talking about $20-$30 for tips. I've already bought them from this seller on eBay with no problem.........3 tips for $20 on Talisman website or 6 tips for $30 (free shipping I might add) on eBay....it's a no brainer......unless of course you guys are millionaires......I'm not......for someone to buy them from Tony's website after I've told you all this would, in my opinion, be foolish from a financial standpoint.........I don't care where Shorty buys them.......I was just trying to help the guy save a little money....

Yo dude, I AM chilled out, and having a ball !!:D

Hey, last time I ordered from them they threw in an EXTRA tip for free, so I got 5 of them for $25 postage paid, plus a free towel (like I really needed a Talisman towel, anyway....:)

Gotta confess I really did like their guarantee. Who knows you might just get a set of old tips that had some problems with them (they fixed that up a long time ago...) Why take the chance?

And... I ain't no millionaire!! Sure wish I was though:D

Take it easy, Pal :-)

Cheers,

Flex

Point well taken....Flex

Flex...I understand what you're saying about the guarantee....it's just that for me the "tips" are the main thing (not the break tip they're also offering now or the towel).....I would simply rather have 6 good tips for $30 than 3 tips + 1 break tip + 1 towel for $20...........have a Happy New Year:)

I was mainly looking for what's the difference between the Talisman WB and the Talisman Pro series of tips. I am currently shooting a Talisman Pro Medium on my Schon shaft and I like it alot better than a Moori actually. The Moori M just got slick very quickly and I was always having to scuff it.

Any other comments? And thanks alot for the feedback so far.

WB's are just plain a little harder.

Talisman Tips and Cases on eBay...who can you trust?

I talked to the US distributor of the Talisman products. Talisman Tips for sale on eBay by sticman99 are the real thing. These are coming directly from the same guy who is the US Distributor for Talisman Billiards. If you don't want the towel or whatever, just call him and he will work out a deal with you. BTW, you can call him direct and not order off of eBay, it is a lot less hassle.

Here is his number: 1-877-882-2295 ask for Tom.

Tell him you saw this on AZBilliards. Maybe we can get him to start advertising here.

Oh and I will post this on the cases thread too, but I did just confirm that the Talisman cases can come in 3x5 sizes also. Same guy - same number.

Yes you can order this stuff from the talismanbilliards.com site, but why not get what you want by direct phone conversation. I find it much easier to just call the guy who is going to mail them to you anyway.
