Ending this Sunday evening 7/03, I'm auctioning off a very pretty TAD Flat Faced Big Pin Rainbow Full Splice Pool Cue. I think the cue is described OK in the auction, but please let me know if there's something I can clarify.

My guarantee is simple, 100% satisfaction or return for complete refund. If the buyer feels that their dissatisfaction is due to a misdescribed auction, I refund all the postage as well.

This cue is being auctioned with no reserve price. The high bidder will win the cue. This auction won't disappear suddenly. I don't end auctions early. I don't have items for sale locally. This auction will run to the end. Interested buyers will all have an equal chance to bid and win the auction.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Good luck and thanks for looking,

Kevin

Is this a TAD senior...?

or is this a Fred...?

Its my understanding that this cue was built about 6 years ago. Tad, as a favor to his first original dealer when Tad stopped dealing direct with the public, let the buyer pick from his old stock of 40 year old blanks. The full splice rainbow blank for this cue was one of those chosen. Whether Tad himself, or Fred himself, or a combination of the two actually built this cue would be a matter of compete speculation (other than doing a DNA test on the cue).

Thanks

Kevin

You forgot... "You have the belt" :D

Tomorrow you can try to win it back.

Oh good.

I have to go buy a cue first (trying to keep the Tad belt from that animal Grassley).

However, I would be glad to pry the Sunland/Tujunga Heavyweight 9 Ball Championship Belt out of your hands. That way I would have:

1) the Tad belt
2) the S/THNB belt
3) matched pair of 1964 Ginas belt (temporarily)
4) eBay cue selling belt (co-holder with my esteemed buyer)
and the
5) lost my reputation in the economy belt

4ish good for you ?

Thanks

Kevin

Kevin's honesty is globally known to be second to none. If anyone is interested in this cue bid without giving anything in the description a second thought.

Good luck with your sale Kevin and have a great night my Friend.

That's really nice of you to say, and this cue pimp really appreciates it. Just to be clear, the only transaction we had, you were the seller in, and you handled that sale with complete honor and integrity. I was very impressed.

Thanks again man

Kevin

OK, here's the scoop on this cue (best I can get it so far):

In the mid 1960s Tad, who was making cues primarily from Titlist blanks (and developing technique to build his own), became quite dissatisfied with the quality of the blanks he was getting from Titlist. Being the scientific kinda perfectionist guy he is, he ordered and commissioned several blanks and cues from various makers to try out.

One of the makers he bought from was Katz. In the mid to late 60s he built 2 or 3 butterfly splice cues from Katz blanks (one is in the Blue Book) and then he started using primarily his own product and the remaining blanks went in storage. Around 2004, a guy that has a great relationship with Tad convinced him to get those old blanks out and make some cues. This butterfly is one of them, the Titlist I sold last week was another.

My understanding is that there are 5 or 6 total of these Katz butterfly Tads in existence, half made in the 60s and half made in the early 2000s, and baring an act of Buddha, there will be no more.

Thanks

Kevin

2 days into the auction and the bidding is just short of $1800.

When are you going to see another?

Thanks

Kevin

2 days left and the auction is a tinge over $1800. I hope there's some room left in this beauty.

Thanks

2nd Last Bump

10 hours to go and the auction is bid to $1902 on this totally unique 1 of 5 or 6 TAD full splice wrapless butterfly.

Over/under anyone?

Thanks

Kevin

Last Bump

A little less than 2 hours left in the auction and this cue will be gone and it will be on to the next one.

I'm thinking TAD made on 5 or 6 of these Butterflies and I have 2. Will, don't you dare tell me you have the other 3 (or 4).

All bids in ?

That it ?

All through ?

Thanks for playing

Kevin
