WATCH HAS BEEN TRADED!! THANK YOU!!!

Hi,

I have a ZENO WATCH BASEL Pilot Watch that i am looking to trade for a nice custom cue.
I would say this is a feeler post since i'm not sure if anybody here would be into watches and this is also a fairly entry level swiss watch brand. I collect watches and i have had this watch for quite a few years now, in pool terms this has been my "main player" for a while in my early years. It has since been quite neglected and kept in a watch winding case.

ZENO WATCH BASEL makes entery level watches and is known for making some pilot watches, the one i have would be one of their high end collection with Slide Ruler function for aviation flight measurements...not very sure how to use it...just thinks it looks darn cool. It's a fairly straight forward watch with only chronograph as it's complication.

I would rate this watch as a 70-75% condition, but i'm very particular about my watches so for most this would be an under-grading.

This watch runs on a Dubois Depraz 2025 movement and was one of the main reason i got it cos not many watches uses movement from this swiss firm anymore, i believe all newer ZENO watches uses Valjoux movements. Automatic movement has power reserve up to 48hrs, for non watch ppl it means once your watch is "charged up" it will stay in power for up to 48hrs when you don't wear them. But if you wear them it's no problem as your arm movements will "charge" the watch to work, so even if you take it off when you sleep it still works and will continue charging when you wear it again. It's only when you stop wearing it completely for more than 48hrs that it will lose it's power, so you will need to wind up it again to have a 48hrs charge.

This is a Big watch, so small guys stay away...:D it measures 47mm across excluding crowns and is 15mm thick. It is also a heavy watch, i don't have it weighed so i don't have any figures now.

The strap you see on the watch is NOT it's original strap, the orignal strap is a Black Leather strap but is very worn(still have it kept) so i custom ordered this Black Snake Skin with Red Stitching which goes very well with this watch giving it an exotic yet sporty feel.

I just did a quick check online and a newer version of this watch is for sale here (http://www.aviation-time.com/594/aaa/&image=1793), the only difference i see aesthetically is the size difference when it has become 44mm(smaller) and 17mm thick and that the stop watch counter has become black as opposed to mine which is silver. My is still sold here http://zenowatchbasel.com/php/zenoview_strap.php?m=8557calth&c=poversized

Let me know if anybody's interested in the watch for a trade. If you need more info or pictures of the watch let me know, i'd be more than happy to provide them to you.

Please check Page 2 for MORE detailed pictures and with a better camera :)
I'd trade this watch at a value about about 1-1.2k depending on the cue. Might be willing to top up a little if something good comes along...

Watch comes with Original box and papers, will be shipped separately.

I also have a nice set of Pechauer Pro Cue + Extra OB Classic Pro Shaft available for trade if someone wants to do a set deal! !

Wow I'm surprised that I actually got a few offers already and it isn't even day time in the states.
Let me know if you've any queries guys!

Anyone interested in a nice watch? It works perfect, I just don't wanna see this watch sit in a safe... Plus my interest has sort of shifted to pool...

Man, if this was a GMT model...

nice piece though, nice mov't too. You'll find a few watch guys on here.

Hahha! My exact sentiments!! I'd say if they can fit in a GMT and Date that'd complete this watch but that would make it too messy...
If only there are custom watches like there are custom cues... Certainly wouldn't mind an Titanium IWC Big Pilot with GMT and Day/Date!

Watch size proportion...

i figured it's be a little tough to visualise how big the watch is..i have taken some pictures of watches that are already considered big for most people so that you can more or less have an idea... i can't find my SD card for my camera so you guys will have to put up with iPhone's camera :D

Note that the TW Steel watch is about 52mm so thats ridiculously huge...it's more of a for fun fashion watch.

If you need to have a rough idea of how big the watch is compared with say a Chalk or a regular Rolex Explorer i can do that as well, just let me know.

Picture of original ZENO strap...

The original ZENO strap is now on my TW Steel watch, both of watch i'm not really wearing anymore...as you can see the original ZENO strap is pretty worn.

If you prefer the original ZENO buckle you can cut it out and have it remade into a new leather strap. But i would say the current snake skin strap makes the watch look more exquisite..plus the snakeskin strap cost me about $200...i know..it's atrocious when you compare it to what cue cases cost..

Willing to top up with some cash if necessary though not preferable. It's a beautiful watch guys!!

Gonna take the strap out and give it a good polishing before i take some nice pictures of the watch.
Com'on guys this is a really nice watch...you'll love it...

When in doubt, I check the completed items prices on ebay. In most cases, if there are many of the same items sold be different sellers, you can pretty accurately judge the market value of an item quickly. Unfortunately for this watch, there was only one like it sold recently. I personally like the watch but don't know much about them. Also, Timezone.com is a pretty good place to find watch values if you look and query the Sales Corner forum.

I bought this watch for about $2000 but I won't use it as a reference since watches like this depreciate but they will eventually reach a stagnant point. Given that a brand new one cost about $1700 from the link I posted and my watch condition I would value this watch against a cue value of $1-1.2k.

those are some seriously badd ass watches.. I REALLY like the AP RoyalOak and WILL own one someday....

Thanks buddy, I like the AP ROO as well, it's a very good daily watch that doesn't collect scratches easily cos of the rubber clad frame and you can wash the strap when it's dirty. Though I think the newer version of this ROO is sportier and IMHO nicer..it has nice red accent on some hands. But my fav. ROO is still the RB2...

My dream watch...a Richard Mille 011 for everyday, UN Freak and OPUS 4 for fancy and MB&F HM2 full sapphire glass face for crazy! Wouldn't mind a fancy DeBethune or Greubel & Forsey somewhere in the collection too..it's late, I'm hallucinating already... :)

I like the (excuse the spelling) Maurice Lacroix Calendar Retrograde with black dial and 2 tone case.

more proportion pics...

I just wanna put up more pics to give people a better sense of the size...didn't have time to take a group shot of all the watches yet...but i took these below pictures a while back. The Rolex Explorer would probably be a common size men's watch, you can compare with with the Panerai on the side and you'll have a rough idea how big the Panerai is and when being compared to the ZENO in the earlier shots i uploaded you can draw a pretty clear conclusion.
I had a couple of friends over the years who offered to buy my watch but i wasn't prepared to sell then and also because once they tried it on they felt it was too big, then again they're of typical asian built therefore it seemed too big for them.

I'm gonna remove the watch strap in a bit to do some polishing and will take some pictures of the watch with it's original strap as well as pictures taken with a decent camera ;)

Keep the offers coming guys!
