Every time I see Earl I can't help but smile and think about the scene in Tin Cup when Kevin Costner is wearing all those golf gadgets trying to find his swing. I gotta believe Earl is either losing his mind or he has the greatest marketing agent in the world!! Bicep weights, cue glove, golf glove, sniper glasses, tennis wrap, elbow wrap, 78 inch cue...if he is getting a check for all that then more power to him. I personally liked him better when he was dominating the Open, running a million balls and beating everybody! Here is a great match played just last week...AWAY from all the tv cameras, and other than the long cue all the other trappings are mysteriously missing...

The old Earl

I agree with you the old Earl was far better for the game, the new Earl is more of a side show..., he will win a match or two and then comes the antics.., not good.

If he and Keith could ever get serious about playing again, pool would change for the better.

There is nothing to "like" about Earl. Granted he can play. He's a li'l monkey cu--. Things dont' go his way and he throws a world class conniption fit, *****ing about Corey Duell's soft 9 ball break. "That's not Pool" Per Earl. Shut your fricking mouth and play. Would U wan't your child to emulate Earl??? He's the worst example of pro pool plaerer.

Again he is a great player... Is there a worst/better example of poor sportsmanship in any cue sport???

"That's' who I would aspire to emulate.

Earl

Like Earl or hate him.....there is nobody in the Pool World that draw as many people to watch him play. Maybe it's the fact that everyone wants to see what he will do next. I have always enjoyed Earl playing and watched him playing as much as I could. I always thought, here is a God to the Pool World, ( 20 years ago ) he could do so much for the Pool World, but he most always reverts back to the Devil side in him...but he is, what he is, and nobody draws as many fans to watch him play..I guess it's either you like him or you hate him.....but the fact is, he will go down as one of top players of all time, as far as ability.

OMG! What a spectacular analogy...I'm just sorry I didn't think of it first!!!

It probably wasn't supposed to spark a "laugh", but that's exactly what it did for me...

Thank you!

Jason

Earl has some very valid ideas with the use of those "gadgets". He is still a fantastic player - the man has it all. Outstanding shot making, pin-point position play, devilish safety play, etc. I never tire of seeing this true Champion play.

hmmm

I'd wear a jockstrap on my head if I could shoot like Earl.....

The current Snooker version is called Ronnie O'Sullivan
