Yo Jazzster, I will have photos of my group of hand-picked Tiger cues real soon. The point veneer tips are CNC cut with a very small bit and have a roundness similar to Ginacue in size. The rest of the veneers inside the points are sharp. There is excellent attention to crisp detail on these cues.

BTW, Tiger has stringent quality control standards and a product service orientation. Thats the guiding philosophy at Tiger on all their products and I like that.

Do you have any close up of points? Are they sharp? CNC? recut?

Do you know if Tiger has any intention of offering cues with no wrap and with linen wrap eventually? The shafts that come with the cues are x-shafts? Any options on joints?

tiger cues

these are very nice cues, just got mine the other day and hit some last night and let some people try it and everyone had good thoughts on it. Very nice cues.

Hi Terry,

My feeble understanding is that these are the first two models for Tiger, as is. These models showcase the Tiger-X laminated shaft, Sniper tip, and beautiful Stack wrap. Depending on how things go and customer feedback (which is important) other models might possibly be developed. The shafts, I would assume, would always be Tiger X-shafts. Although there are no joint options at present, there could be in the future...like 3/8-10 flat face, for example. I hope that helps.

Speedy I'm glad to hear your feedback. I decided to carry them after looking at the quality of build of the prototype cues and talking further with Tiger about their vision regarding their cues and other products. I'd like to encourage you to contact Corey at Tiger with any feedback you have about your cue now or later.

BTW, did you realize that each new cue buyer is entitled to a year of pocket billiards coaching or advisement from Corey via email? You might not need it but I can see how this could help a developing novice or intermediate player. Corey is very knowledgable and plays pool at a high level. I think he could succeed on the pro circuit if he didn't need to make a dependable living!

Martin,

Are these cues limited in production or available upon request? By the way... still loving the Carmeli Pete and ignoring the local trade bait.

Hey Martin,

I will be talking w/ Corey sometime next week so i'll let him know my feedback. Corey is a great person to deal w/ I am also in their dealer program but I mostly use there products for repairs you know. Great stuff though!

Hi Jason,

Each cue is numbered and certified. As of right now there are perhaps 50 cues of each model available. I don't think there is any intention of limiting the number of cues made and maybe the numbering of the cues will be dropped down the road. Maybe Corey will see this and further explain.

I'm glad you're enjoying the Carmeli pete. PM me if you're really wanting a second shaft with extended taper.

Right on Speedy! I agree with you that Corey and the Tiger people are great to deal with. On Friday I got an impromptu lesson on installing Stack wraps from master craftsman Elia--you've got to watch him work with that Tina knife sometime--he is a storehouse of knowledge when it comes to working leather. He makes Stack installations look real easy!

As our intial cue offering, 100 cues of each model are already made. As Elia is hand finishing all the Stack Wraps himself, it is taking time to complete the cues.

Martin, by the time you came by, he had probably only been able to complete about 35-40 cues. We did have many pre-ordered cues, so those went out ASAP!

There are curently no plans to discontinue the 1st two models. The numbering is something that will continue as cues are made. Any new editions for the future will also be numbered.

Cues kinda look like jacobys. I wonder who makes them for tiger or do they make them them selfs?

Hi Martin,
I'm wondering the same thing and I didn't see where this question was addressed. Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge the butts are made by a small custom shop somewhere in Wisconsin, not sure who they are but they do a good job and the quality control standards are tight. The cue butts are then Stack wrapped and the Tiger-X shafts are made entirely in Burbank, CA.

BTW, Tiger is soon to release a new ferrule that has qualities similar to Ivor-X but is not quite as hard--I'm looking forward to trying it out. I think it will soon be standard on the Tiger-X shaft. I hope that helps.

We do have plans to offer other models in the future perhaps offering one without a wrap, however since we are "the leather people" we have no intention in ever using linen.

Joint-wise, we may look into adding a line/model with a wood-to-wood joint (perhaps Radial).

All Tiger Cues come standard with "X" Laminated Shafts which are "new & improved" (new taper, higher quality ferrule, cleaner finish & lamination also improved wood selection).

Check us out at the Super Billiards Expo!
