With sad greetings to all of the family and friends Doug and I have come to know here on AZ- Douglas William Baltrip passed away early this morning as a result of a single vehicle accident. I am posting this for the AZ community because Doug was very passionate about cues and cases! He also made so many wonderful friends here on AZ that have become part of our family. I will try to link funeral arrangements when they become available online. Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe MI is handling all the arrangements. The showing will be this Sunday 11:00am to 8:00pm. The funeral will be held on Monday at 11:00am also at Rupp Funeral Home with burial at Roselawn Memorial also in Monroe MI.

Please keep our family in your prayers.

Brandi Baltrip

How devastating when an accident takes someone so suddenly. I never met him, but know he had many friends here. My thoughts are with you.

You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers Brandi. I do not know what else to say other than offering you our deepest sympathy. If there is anything at all we can do for you, please give us a call.

Sincerely,

Jamie & Lora Wernsman

Brandi,
Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you and the kids are very close in every thought and prayers.

Toots and I were devastated when Vinny called this morning. I am just without words to let you know how broken up we are. We love both of you like our family. Will be in touch later.

I'm terribly shocked and saddened to hear this Brandi. Doug was such an honorable and bright man, always a pleasure to talk with. Huge loss for the billiards community. Thank you for sharing this unfortunate news. God bless. Martin

Brandi,

I and so many others that met or dealt with Doug, are all heartbroken for you and your children. I hope that you find strength in knowing that Doug
made my life a little happier, just by meeting him and sharing some time
together.

I know that many people feel the same way that I do.
You and so many of us will remember the smiling face of a man who has the respect of us all.

My prayers will include you and the children.
I am truly sorry for your loss.

Barry

Doug

I had the pleasure of meeting you both when you came out to California to support our cue show.
I was also just getting started on making cue cases and Doug gave me some straight forward great advice. We also talked cues and custom Damascus knives.

We met up a few times at the Super Billiards Expo and he always took time to check up on me and look over my work. I always appreciated his expert opinion.
He was a huge asset to the billiard community and he will be sorely missed.

Thanks for sharing him with us. Prayers to you and your family.
