I'm gonna look like a groupie replying to all your threads...but this Cass has some new elements that I'm curious about.
The stitches diamond I've not seen on your cases before. What's on the top of th lid? Leather or wood?

The alphabets look very sharp and neat, were they pre engraved on your CNC before tooling?

Thanks,

I don't really need to worry about someone stealing it with my name that big!

Having a name on a custom case is no guarantee it will not be stolen.

Thieves are interested in whats in the case rather than the case itself.

No doubt Jack,
I've been very lucky...... I've never had any cues stolen.
2 years ago at the VNEA one of my team mates had his room at the riv broken into, while he was sleeping in it!
They got his new case, old cue, new cue break cue and jump cue :(

We have done the diamonds before. We bevel the edges inside the window and put eva foam under the inlay to make it close to flush with the surface and a bit closer to a true inlay.

The top cap is leather that was laser engraved with Cuejo's logo.

For the lettering we took the font that Darcy requested and cleaned it up a bit and then used the laser to make the lines which we then hand cut and tooled to finish them up.

:-) We do tend to go big.

I used to embroider names on cases. Once upon a time I had a case stolen with a customer's name on it. Several months later I saw the case at a tournament and confronted the guy with it. He denied that it was my customer's case until I pointed out where the thief had removed the thread but left were the needle holes clearly spelling out my customer's name.

The story about the hotel room getting broken into is scary though. Reminds me to make sure to secure the door from the inside in hotels.

It was bad!
The door was locked, but it didnt close all the way?

Stupidly the riv didnt have good cameras in the hallways to see who it was.

The case really looks great :)

Now I just have to sell my old instroke :)

Wow,
Weird update.
My buddy who's cues and case got stolen.
He was watching pawn stars reruns the other day, and spotted his case in the background!
He called the store, the guy he talked to remembers the cues, someone bought them long ago, can't do anything without police reports.
Hope something comes out of this!

Nice work John. So many of your cases that I like, however, this is in
the top three. Very cool. Steve

I gotta say I love this case too!
I would not hesitate for a minute to get another JB case :)
