Phil's Ginacue... " It was first made for Jim Rempe and then a second for J Novak.
This was Novak’s cue and passed through several hands until it found it’s way to me
about 5 years ago. I decided to send it to Ernie for a Spa bath and refurbishment. "

Please enjoy the photo's of Phil's Ernie Gutierrez Ginacue...

thank you

thanks so much for your help , Alton. I look forward to your fine caps for this one. When I got this cue it was in rough shape. sent this to ernie, it was in rough shape. Ernie rebult this cue using the original parts from 1965! It has a great feel!

Gina

Beautiful classic Gina, and Ernie did some job refinishing that cue. Forty six years old, and looks like he could have designed it today. Ernie= way ahead of his time!!!

Ernie made one for Rempe in 69/70 with the dominoes on the butt sleeve
and a stained birds eye forearm (no points) and white with green speck Irish linen wrap. Rempe was living in Columbus, Ohio at the time and thought he had ordered the cue
with a titlist forearm. ( I was standing next to him when he was talking to Ernie on the phone), and Jimmy told him he wanted a "plain front" thinking points with no inlays.
When the cue arrived Jimmy was just a little disappointed. It was a beautiful cue and Ernie's work was fantastic. A couple of years later Jimmy talked Balabushka
into making him what we now call a Hoppe Copy. It was really something. I think Joe Burns ended up with it. I could be a little off on the time frame, but, not by much.

Phil,

Great, Great Cue!!!! It goes well with your wonderful collection of top flight collectible cues.

And you sure chose well when you started having Alton do some caps. As you already know, every set he completes takes the cue to a new level.....a whole new level. This cue will be no exception!

Merry Christmas to both you and Alton, two great friends whose friendship I treasure.

Will Prout
