Out of some of the house cues I've played with, I liked Valley Supreme the best, I thought it had the best feel out of all of them. I think Dufferin house cues are good when you have the old Canadian ones, not the ones that are currently made in China.

Another option I think would be to put two Players sneaky petes on the shelf. I hear a lot of good things about them.

I like Valley, but Dufferin aren't bad either. Then again, maybe you should ask my house guests since they use them and I don't.

I used to recommend Dufferin & Valley but since they moved their manufacturing to China the quality has gone down hill. Also made in China but I've found to be very good for house cues are the one piece or 2 piece Cuetec. Wow that was hard for me to get out, but they hold up to the punishment that house cues seem to get, pretty well and the people who "play off the wall" usually don't know the difference anyway.

The best housecues are the ones you see the road hustlers sneak in the back door of the poolhall and stash in the cue rack. Go steal one of those.

:) :)

If you can find them, Huebler made one piece house cues that played excellent. Great for sneaky conversions too.

I picked up a few Schmelke one piece for guests and am pretty happy with them. They are made with really NICE bocote back ends and have a decent pro style taper. Not the cheapest, but I felt good spending my money with a cue maker based in Wisconsin. My wife loves her Schmelke cocobolo sneaky.

Lucasi makes one piece cues by permanately joining butts and shafts. This allows them to taper the cues mo-betta. In fact, I like their $17 house cues more than the sneakies Lucasi sells for $160.

why house cues?

why not get four used plain McDermotts and a pile of weight bolts. they play great are inexpensive and your guests can customize them as they see fit.

house cues

:thumbup:sterling makes 57 inch one piece cues of rosewood and maple with le pro tips and play very nice for around 20 bucks.

I've noticed the older dufferins have longer splices, whereas the newer ones are bottom heavy and have points that end a few inches after the balance point.

I really like the CUETEC one-piece house cues, going for about $30.
4 or 5 colors. Play well for the price, and quite damage-resistant.

Available online: Mueller's and others.
