I just recieved my Lambros cue today, thanks Duane,
...
And I cant believe this cue!!!
Hits like a piece of OAK with no tip on it,
Has the deflection characteristics of a Predator,
Grabs and spins the ball like a Meucci...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I am a long time Predator shaft addict, and cant play with solid maple shafts due to the deflection. I dont particularly like the hit from the Pred, but I'm used to low deflection and need it! It kills me to buy a 4,000.00 Custom cue and screw a aftermarket shaft on which cancels the hit I paid for.
I just got my new Lambros with a solid maple shaft, and it has almost no more deflection than my 1st generation Pred shafts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Lambros, you are a genius!
Let me explain the hit of this cue for those not familiar with them. It hits the cue ball like a piece of solid OAK with no tip on the end...HUKINK! Not the HUKOONK, that you find in most cues, or the "hufoompf" especially low deflection variety.
It puts more action on the ball than my Pred shaft...much more spin...I have kamui and milk duds on there now (2 orig shafts).
So hard hitting, yet It has a "stroke forgiving" nature about it (Like a Muecci) where its not so stiff that you miscue frequently like some stiff shafts, it grabs the cue ball comfortably-amazing for how hard-hitting the cue is! Very easy to pick up and play with.
Yet, It has VERY LOW DEFLECTION-This cue literally combines the best attributes of every cue into one cue...STOCK!!!!!
Now it does have a LITTLE more deflection than a Pred 2 for example, but under normal play, it doesnt show. For example, firm shot with 1 1/2 tips side english...about the same deflection as Pred 1. Only when you use the extreme outside of cue ball does it increase in deflection. 90 % of the shots taken, with alot of english in normal play, it will play almost just like a pred!!!
Very easy for a pred user to adapt to and the hit is like something out of a fairy-tale book!!!
Low deflection cue users, this cue changes the rules-now u can have that hit and low deflection!!!!!
Let me just say...Its NOT FOR SALE!
