Just curious ? Not trying to stir anything up ,it was sort of tradition and I believe the TAR crew got started at Derby .So far I am not a big fan of the quality of the inside pool stream but hey it is the first day .Hope the extra weight on the bandwith does not cause Accustats issues with the nice work they always pull off . Oh well I will set and wait or just go to the show in person .Also I wanna be clear I am NOT picking on TAR ,I really always watched the stream.

Several factors came into play. Tearing the studio down to go to Derby, setting it back up again after only to tear it down again in Feb for Reno was one, not being able to really schedule anything for a PPV during Derby was a big one and the largest factor being that the financial risk and hours worked for potential return just didn't add up.

We decided to put a lot resources into the TAR Studio and that means we can't take some of the chances we have in the past. It wasn't an easy decision because Derby means a lot to me and it is a big part of TAR history. Greg and Chad at Diamond always treated us great and I know it will be a great event this year. I'll be sweating it on Accu-Stats and AZ for sure.

Well, don't blame you, Justin....

TAR was just doing the action room, right? I don't blame you guys for not traveling all the way out there for that. The action room at the Exec West might have been worth it, but def not the one at the casino.

were you actually at the derby last year, or the past several years?
Lots of action happend in the action room.

I think justin was being polite with his answer.

My opinion is that there was just not enough support for "tar".
not enough streams purchased.
Not enough t-shirts purchased.
Too many people that had to be babysat & watched over like children.

In other words, too much bullshit with too LITTLE reward or profit.

I don't believe it has anything to do with the venue.

this is my opinion, i am not speaking for anyone else,

The reasons you mention are very valid ones as well, but after experiencing the action rooms both at the Exec West and at the casino, I don't think I'm alone in my opinion that it slipped a few notches when the tournament moved. I remember times when there were 4 or 5 tables in stream-worthy action at the Exec West, compared to times when they were having a hard time finding one stream-worthy match at the casino. But that is just my opinion, and I certainly respect yours.

the action room at the executive west was about as good as it gets.
Nine tables with constant action, especially late at night.

I think the fact that there is less late night action now is due partly to the layout of the venue plus a worse economy + more going on at the casino including the fat boy 10 ball challenge & one pocket challenge going on at midnight.
