I forget which pro had a 1000 accu stat score at the moment, but can anyone tell me what tournament it was in and how many 9 balls he made on the break and how many 9 ball combos? Johnnyt

I believe it was done twice. The one I know for sure was Efren did it in the 2004 DCC against Jimmy Wetch. He made zero 9's on the break and zero 9 ball combinations (just watched it two nights ago).

Jimmy had a 0.000 accu-stats rating. He made no balls (missed a 5 ball and kicked twice).

Edit: Forgot to add it was a race to 7 in case you didn't know.

Thank you.

Jose Parica's wikipedia entry states "He is the only player to achieve a perfect game of nine ball in a (race to 11) match."

There isn't a citation stating where/when it happened.

Thank you all for the feedback. Johnnyt

I think that it's been done three times Efren, Mika and I can't remember who the third was , also don't know how many 9's on break ,or combinations were made sorry. Edit been done 3 times on Accu-stats I think.

Yup, Mika had one in the DCC, I think in 2003. He was playing Archer.

I'm not sure how Accustats work.
I believe it was Allen Hopkins playing the Miz in a final in Florida years ago.
..race to 9...Allen won the lag and ran the set out.
Is that 1.000 rating?
..and does Miz get a zero?

Yes to both questions.

These are three matches where Efren Reyes plays perfect pool. Against Bustamante in the 1999 World Pool Championships he runs a nine-pack. In the 1995 US Open against Kunihko he put on a similar display with some excellent commentary from Grady Mathews and Billy Incardona. In the 2004 Derby City Classic he plays a perfect 1.000 match against Jimmy Wetch, this also with some excellent commentary from Danny Diliberto. The subsequent parts of each video are in the related videos tab. Enjoy.

That would be 1000 sir.

Efren didn't shoot a 1000 in the Efren vs. Buste match because he missed a shot to end his 9 rack run ,still great shooting of coarse but no 1000 Accu-stats rating

Thanks for the links! I switched over to watching these last night after nearly clawing my eyes out watching the "Battle of the Beauties" match.

In the Efren vs. Kunihko match, there's a great shape shot, where Efren shoots the 2-ball in the side with inside, hits the short, then long rail and ends up great on the 3-ball. It's a shape shot I don't think I've seen before. The 3-ball didn't seem to lie natural for it and it's probably one of the most interesting shape shots I've seen in a while. Of course he made it look routine. It's in the later part of the match I think.

These old Accu-Stats newsletters offer an interesting look at TPA's of the players through various tournaments. Top finishers usually carried TPA's in the mid to high 800's, but you will occasionally see some over .900. At Red's in Houston in 1985, Caesar Morales carried a .896 tournament average. Of the 214 matches played in that tournament, 29 had players with TPA's over .900, the highest of which being a .970 by Buddy Hall against D. Rhodes.

That's not his only miss. I just started watching it and Efren misses the 6-ball in rack number 2 (7:45) in the first video.

I thought Jesse Engel had a 1000 against either Mike Seigal or Earl Strickland 2 years ago at the Open.
