I've been seeing some It's George cue pop up lately, I'm only familiar with his cases..would love to find out more about his cues like who made them (did he?? ), when to when, how does it play and all...well basically just a thread to drain AZ members off their knowledge.

Thanks guys...let the leeching begin!

I have owned probably 20.I was turned onto them by Stevie Moore probably 15 years ago and they are some of the most solid cues you will find...

Thanks for the info thus far.

What about the part where I've read about Mike Gulyassy coming into the picture? How did that come about? Why and when?

Mike Roberts hired me to start up the It's George line many years ago (6-8 years ago). I was around It's George cues since the beginning. Bill Schick made me a custom cue when they first started. I became an It's George player rep and a It's George wholesale dealer. I was with them for as long as they were open. I learned from Bill how to build cues and he helped me refine my cue repair techniques. Anyway the It's George cues I built, about 10 of them sold immediately. Mike Roberts and I could not get together in our business relationship. I am fully equipped to produce a cue that was like It's George and even better, like the 10 I built.

Straight from the horse's mouth!

Thank you for contributing Mr Gulyassy. These were and are great cues and it is great to know that you are prepared to carry the torch, so to speak, with their construction....and to even take them to a higher level as you say.

May I ask, is there any way to differentiate the It's George cues you built from the others? Perhaps if we can't tell ourselves could you tell if you had one in your hands?

There are a few small differences and yes I can recognize mine from theirs. One thing I was doing was numbering them on the SS joint 001,002 and so on.
