Maybe you don't miss the shot

For a cut shot, my aiming process start with where I want to put the OB. For me, most time than not, that's center pocket.

There was a period of time to where I was always missing certain cut shots to the left of the pocket opening. The common thinking would be that my aiming was off for rolling the CB over the aim spot.

Well, the thought that maybe I was hitting the aim point correctly, but instead was picking the wrong end point for the OB.

I starting paying attention to what I looked at last before going into shooting stance. I noticed that the OB was going to the last place I looked even though my goal was for center pocket.

I was looking to the left of the pocket last and not the center of the pocket. I changed this habit. I stopped missing to the left of the pocket.

The point is maybe your are hitting your aim point correctly, you just picked the wrong one.

Just maybe you don't miss......just pick the wrong spot to but the OB and you did everything else right.

duckie..... If you use the ghost ball read my thread on a visual guide for CB aiming.
It works for me and may help in finding the correct angles to pocket the object ball.

Luck to you... Carl.. aka Ralph Kramden

Greg,

Playing Golf...

A tee shot goes to the edge of the fairway & a bit under a tree. The shot has to be hit under an over laying branch. I look at the branch. Guess what the golf ball hits.

Play in Florida, A single palm tree sort of in the shot line. I look at the palm tree. Guess what the golf ball hits.

It took me about six or more of theses occurrences to say to myself, don't look there stupid, look where you want the golf ball to go.

Just a supporting story.

Best Wishes,
Rick
