I can't tell you much about it other than I have seen a few others. One identical to yours and another that was a regular flip open length wise box case. If I had to take a guess I'd say 70's case, possible import? Last one I saw on flea bay didn't break 20.00
I wish I could be of more help with the company history but that's all I got.
 
They were made in the U.S.A. in the 70's They're fairly scarce actually, especially the model you have with the tube type lid.
