Beautiful pieces, Bill. Good luck with the sale!

Babe's full name is Arthur Cranfield, Jr. His Dad, Arthur Cranfield, Sr., was well known in the sports world for training boxers and operating prominent poolrooms in the Bronx, NY and in Syracuse, NY. Babe was close to his Dad, who nurtured Babe's interest in all sports from a young age. At various times in his life, Babe played baseball, basketball, bowling, golf, tennis, table tennis, and of course billiards -- most of these at a competitive level. Curiously, Babe didn't get his nickname to distinguish him from his father; Babe got his nickname b/c he hung around Babe Ruth as a kid!

Babe (Cranfield) gave me an original program from the Philly tournament that looks just like the bottom poster. It is a cherished possession and is framed on the wall in our family room.

Whoever picks up these beautiful posters will be happy with them for years to come, I'm sure.

Are these original posters or reprints, is it heavy poster paper....worthy of frame?

Size of posters? Thanks

I had an old friend.

Babe wouldn't play him straight for money niether would Erving. One day he said Babe was shooting and his mother talked. Babe missed and looked at her across the poolroom picked up the cueball and rocketed it at her just missing her.
He was a little bit of a hot head. One of the best.
Nick :)

Reproductions are not exactly "Vintage", you may want to edit the post. I though they were the originals.
