Bocote/Ebony Fancy Keith Josey SP

Where'd my stroke go?

I just got this cue from Keith a week ago and I have to say that he hit it out of the park. I originally was looking at getting a standard bocote into maple sneaky, but after listening to my preferences (60", 20-21 oz.), they recommended a heavier dark bocote into ebony blank so they wouldn't have to rely on weight bolts to get the cue up to 20 ounces. It's a rare wood combination, and I thought it would be a little to dark for my taste, but as you can see from the photos, it's a beauty. Despite the length and heavier weight, the cue is balanced very nicely, while the shaft is 12.5mm and deflects a little more than the predator I'm used to. However it feels and lot more powerful and solid with no vibration whatsoever, and I've had no problems adjusting. Also, I have to say that the rings and finish on this cue are absolutely flawless, among the best I've seen.

If you're looking for a maker with great customer service and communication, fast turn-around time and top-notch craftsmanship, I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Josey Custom Cues.

Boy that wood grain looks killer...Better lit conditions would really show off that Bocote more, those shots don't do that wood any justice :grin-square:.
Bet it hits like a beast with that ebony forearm too. Congrats!! I'm a 60" fan as well...Nice pick up!!

Thanks Clint,

You're right, it does hit like a beast and I definitely need to take this baby out in the sunlight and snap some better photos.

That's quite the cue you have in your sig, by the way.

That cue looks wonderful and I think the ebony makes it more of a contrast. I want to try one of Keith's cues in the worst way. Congrats on a great cue!
