Best break cue materials?

I'm looking to buy a dedicated break cue. I have a stupid hard break. I have broke numerous bar/house cues by either snapping the ferrules and shafts (2). While I was stationed overseas, I broke balls in half on the break on 3 or 4 different occasions.
I know there are several different break cues available. Not looking to spend a lot of money on one. The Joss "Thor Hammer" has my attention as I can get them for $220.

Thoughts on this or other cues and the strongest materials??

Thanks

Nothing wrong with running on the edge but if you're breaking balls and cues you might be looking for something with a bit less than the hardest tip available. Regardless of which cue you choose I'm sure this could be a consideration/modification.

If your break is that hard, stay away from G10 or phenolic tips. You will do more damage than potting balls. Some materials to look for are purple heart, ash, dymondwood, and curly maple, just to name a few. G10 or phenolic ferrules would be fine with a hard leather tip. A heavier cue may slow your break down as well, which would help.

My first thought would be to take some off your break. There's no reason to break that hard unless you're in a break speed contest. Also I'd bet you're control hitting them that hard is probably less then desirable. Look at Shane, he has the best break in the game and he's not crushing 'em. Then I'd definitely stay away from g10 or phenolic tips. A hard leather tip would probably be best. Purpleheart seems to be a popular choice for break cues, a purpleheart shaft is stiffer than maple too. I use a maple shaft and a le pro tip that's been on there for a while so it's hardened up and I can break plenty hard when I need to.

I have taken some off my break. I usually just use a house cue so I don't pop a tip off my own :D The control is good and I rarely go off the table. If I could get the rest of my game to catch up to my break I would be awesome

If you don't mind the look of purpleheart, you can contact Bob Flynn (AzB user QMAKER), he makes Denali cue, with break cues of purpleheart (especially the shaft). He is a very nice guy to communicate and very open to explanation. I contacted him earlier for a break cue, but later I decided against it just because of the purpleheart, it is so girly and don't match with my cue set.

for the tips, during my search for a break cue, I heard many recommendations that Samsara and White Diamond are the top break tips.

hope this help.
Cuong.
