Just purchased this one from Antfarm (thanks, again, Greg! also, I'm stealing some of your pics, hope it's ok - I don't have the originals, so some day, these links may break):
I got to play with it tonight. Generally I like Carolina Custom cues, but this one is really special.
For one thing it is just stunningly beautiful. I like simplicity in cues, and the elements of this cue go together in a very synergistic way.
Second, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I almost like its playing characteristics as much as my Whisler (which, as I've said before, is simply the best hitting piece of wood... ever). The stick resonates in such a pleasing and comforting way when it strikes the cue ball. I spent about an hour with no chalk, just hitting everything firmly and centerball (just for the experience), and I found myself really attuned to its feel.
It's hard to make too direct of a comparison to the Whisler, since it's about an ounce lighter (which makes a surprising difference), but it definitely compares favorably, and is a keeper.
