ABP points - what are they?

There are a lot of threads on the ABP and their points.

I heard some very disturbing news earlier.
And it confirms exactly what I was afraid of - which I feel is what the ABP plan was all along.

Confusion!!!!!

Players are being confused. Some think they need to play in these ABP events to get 'points' which will help determine the Mosconi and BCA invites to WPA events.

The ABP needs to clarify what their points are for - and to distinquish them from the BCA points.

When the 'pro players' start thinking they need to go to these events, they are being mislead.

I also have (from a pretty solid source) that CW has told several players that the ABP points will be recognized by the BCA. Also that the ABP points will become the BCA points system. (Which is not going to happen).

IF that is true, CW is beyond misleading, he is lying.

I think he needs to clarify. I am not just throwing our rumors here. This is pretty accurate source. I will not reveal the source (at this time) but I am not going to risk my reputation by putting out BS.

Sounds like a bunch of BS, it is sad that the players are being mislead. I think in all honesty at this point the forum should just block the ABP and anything else to do with Charlie Williams from these forums until he straightens up. It seems like one thing after another, I do acknowledge some good events that Dragon Promotions put on and puts money in the players pockets but there is a right and wrong way of doing things.

It seems that ABP is making a lot of forward-looking statements that state their desired position and blurring that line with what the current situation is. It's very easy to mislead when talking this way. Players making decisions in the present need to make the distinction between forward-looking statements and reality.

Will CW answer these questions? I sincerely doubt it.

Why are the points not displayed with the players names?
Why did they not show how the points would be allocated prior to events?
Why did they not list what tournaments would be points events?

I know that most of this ABP arm twisting is coming from CW as it's his MO, but until Johnny Archer (prez ABP) gets rid of CW or steps down as president he has to get plenty of the blame for all of this. CW has them all in his pocket I believe. Johnnyt

Maybe Mike will give him a lifetime ban !!!

If you get enough points you can cash them out for fabulous prizes!

100 points- CW life size cardboard cutout

500 points- the CW hotel package, includes keys to female occupied rooms

1,000 points- pick which female player with big jugs will be the next Dragon player rep, includes private talent auditions via Skype

5,000 points- pick which event the ABP will boycott next

10,000 points- allowed to post on AZ under the ABPpro user name for 1 week

50,000 points- hair salon appointment with CW himself

I don't think they should ban CW. If you have threads on here about what he is doing, what underhanded thing he does next, and so on. I think it is much more telling that he has a forum on which to make his case, but he chooses not to.

To silence him would play into his own hand, the fact that he has a place and a chance to speak but chooses not to speaks volumes.

People who are not doing the right thing seldom want or choose to speak about it.
No wonder the silence is deafening

Has he ever admitted to doing anything wrong at any point? Why would you expect anything to change at this point? I can't trust someone who as far as I can tell believes they are infallible.

As long as people support DP, the ABP, any company that allies with them, he will be allowed to do whatever he likes if he keeps making them money. That he was allowed to represent the United States of America at the Mosconi Cup just says money is the only thing that matters. Morals don't. Honor doesn't. Just cash.

Don't scratch your heads and wonder why last years support was the poorest ever; there was only one reason.

If AZbilliards stopped allowing CW, Dragon, or the ABP to post here, itsfroze would have nothing to start threads about or comment on!

Couldn't agree more. I for one didn't watch because of him.

Here is something that is gonna piss off many people including myself. I heard that CW has a 3 year agreement witrh matchroom to be captain. So all those thinking that we will get Varner back or any other peoples fav is out of the question unless Matchroom get enough complaints but even then I am not sure it is enough. I think that everyone knows that CW is in this all for himself and has a master plan. I am also sure he is sat back somewhere laughing at everyone doing the infighting just as he planned. The ABP has a purpose but the way CW (and we all know its him) is going about it is just wrong. The sport has enough problems without this guy who hides behind Dragon and especially with the ABP he is gonna leave Archer out to dry when it falls apart. Archer is being used IMO. Like at the Mosconi Cup last year he was displaying his TEAM USA shirt until they looked like they were gonna lose and then began wearing a jacket over his team shirt and becam less and less visible as if ashamed of being a part of it. The whole thing stinks. I saw the difference last year at Mosconi Cup the crowd was subdued and wanted the USA to win but also had a feeling that they didn't want tp be a part of team USA with CW.

WOW!!! Speechless wonder why varner only got a one year deal??? Also, wonder why the team members got ZERO input on team captain??? Especially, since the team members haven't even been selected yet. But, then again they may have already signed 3 year deals themselves???

dont u have their phone numbers? give them a call

Why would he do that, so they can say one thing in private and then another publicly. Did you forget their normal way of dealing is underhanded at best? Not to mention he has already stated that he had tried that with less than positive results. Perhaps you are unaware of that.

Why don't you all simply go to matchroom's website and flood the emails with protests? Ask for clarification and lay out your reasoning.

But from a promotioinal standpoint they sell out the venue every time, they have longstanding television contracts, they have advertisers so why should they care what a few people on forums think about their decisions.

Barry Hearn has had to deal with scandals involving possible match fixing in Snooker why do you think he cares about some allegations about a person who is only peripherally connected to him? What Barry Hearn cares about is whether the show is successful or not. And by all accounts the Mosconi Cup is a success and it doesn't matter who the captain is in that regard.

What IS however crappy is if the players who so very much WANT to be part of this event are misled or confused as to what events award points that count towards participation. And to that end the answer is the exact same, ask Matchroom.

Charlie will not be the Captain of the US Mosconi Cup team this year. There never was a two year agreement.

And how go you know this? A person in another thread said he had a three year contract, but he didn't say how he knew this either.

A guy called Joe told me the sky was falling, did either of you hear this from
JOE? LOL
